Very small beach - but the walking trails along the beach are great! Good for families staying in the area.

There are endless beach walks on a path along the beach or directly on the beach. We visited for many years now and never found the beach crowded. There however is always security there as well as indications on the swimming conditions.

Wonderful beach, quiet, clean, wide and easy to access. On the beach, compare to Miami Beach, you can enjoy the sound of the sea instead of the noisy other beaches.

as one might expect in North Beach. Water not as pristine, far fewer beach services than South Beach, no good walking trails or boardwalk or bike trail that goes very far and traffic is far closer and more obvious than the sea. Walkability is zero for snacks or drinks, and incredibly, stores and restaurants are MORE pricey than SoBe because they neighborhood is more "exclusive." Parking a nightmare and expensive, traffic awful and many main roads that end abut the beach with a curb or small sidewalk, none of the appeal of a quieter beach further north.

Far from the action of South Beach and the hotels in the 40s (Fountainbleu, etc.), Surfside Beach is quiet and relaxing. There are a ton of apartment buildings nearby, but they are pretty empty most of the year.
