Beautiful hotel, great rooms, very friendly staff. Only thing wrong with this place is if you want to walk to the heart of South Beach, it is several blocks.

We stayed at Bentley Beach Hotel, Miami 1-5 July 2008 en route from Ireland to our main holiday destination in Naples. We were disappointed with the accommodation. We had specifically requested a room with an ocean view and balcony. When we arrived we found that the main view was of the building site next door where they are constructing new condos. The next morning to our horror we found out that the workmen started at 8.00 a.m. sharp (kango hammers working flat out) and worked through until 5.00 p.m. We also found out that the bar and restaurant in the hotel had been closed for several months. Neither of these basic facts were advised on the website nor were they mentioned by the agent South Beach Luxury Hotels when were booking the accommodation.
We did not make an issue as we were only staying for a few nights. However on our last evening things went from bad to catastrophic when our daughter was hit in the face by a 'bottle rocket' fired by another guest from the balcony opposite about 20 yards away. The help and support we received was pathetic to say the least - basically we were left to fend for ourselves. We could not get through to reception on the phone to get the police and ambulance. We had to run down to reception with our daughter even then it was the person who set off the rocket who had to use their cell phone to call the emergency services. I followed my wife and daughter to the hospital after giving a report to the police – the hotel kindly organised a taxi for me (wow)!! Having spent the whole evening at Accident & Emergency returning at 11.30; the hotel reception could not even be bothered to organise some food for us and again we were left to sort ourselves out and had to phone for a carry out.
I can not over state how badly let down we were by Hilton Hotel in general and Bentley Beach Hotel in particular.
There are plenty of good hotels in Miami – Bentley Beach Hotel is not one of them!! You have been warned.

  • Liked — Location - proximity to beach and restaurants.
  • Disliked — No food, no bar, lack of atmosphere probabley as a result of these factors.

After reading the reviews,we were very nervous about staying here.My Wife choose it as we had a baby and all rooms apparently came with a kitchen.

Check in: As with probably all Guests we asked for a room away from the construction site, they could not help but offered us a suite on the other side, additional cost $100 per nite, not accepted as we were staying 8 nights

Rooms: Sold as a suite only hotel, rooms are not suites and have a sink and microwave but not stove, very small rooms.

Beach: Advertised in reception as a beach with butlers, not true. It is not a guest exclusive beach, a number of times we could not get a seat as they had rented them to non-guests,access to the beach is by the construction site, this is usually dirty. 5.00pm they remove the seats, which upset a lot of guests who were relaxing,Staff were rude and unhelpful.

Bar: Closed at 11.00pm every nite, crazy as we were on vacation and wanted to have some drinks.

Summary: There are far better hotels in south beach to stay, location is too far away from everything, it is at 1st street and you need to be at between 5th street and 25th street. It is hard to understand that the Hilton lets this hotel operate under its brand, serious questions must be asked why this is. Valet parking is advertised as free to members of the beach club, we were charged $25 a nite and told we were only guests not members. Until this Hotel is not beside a construction site and resolves its issues, you would be crazy to stay here.

We had payed nearly $400 per night for a room with an ocean view and balcony overloking the ocean. We got something in the second tower that overlooked the rooms in the first tower, the bins at Nikki Beach and on the left hand side, a building that was just being built and building work began at 8am prompt.
We went to complain, after all this was far from what we payed for, and were told it was an Ocean view. Can you see the ocean? Well, I can see it slightly if I stand on a chair on my balcony. Well, what are you complaining about?
The service was diabolical, they had my money so they simply won't be doing anything to improve our stay. The only parking they have is valet so it is $30 per night.
The room was OK however it was plastered in little ants, everywhere. A guy came up with Roach Killer and sprayed a few and said there wasn't anything else he could do. We begged him to leave the spray which he eventually did. There was no check up to see if the problem had improved so the following morning I went down to complain and the reception said there was nothing they could do, the hotel was full. As if. This is how this hotel treats you. The cleaning lady had obviously killled a lot of them during her visit but at no point did anyone even apologise for this incident. The obvious move was to go to a different hotel but we had spent $750 for two nights and couldn't afford it.
This was a disgrace and turns my stomach just writing it. I know there are a lot of good reviews for this hotel and I'm sure if you were in an 'ocean view room' without ants it would be a good place but from our experience I would never stay here again and would advise everyone against it incase they were treated like us. There are plenty more hotels to choose from.

We had planned a girls getaway and we using Honors points to stay at this Hilton. We called several times before arriving letting them know that we had 4 people and would like to have a 2 bed room only to be told that if they had it they would give it to us. This was 3 months in advance mind you. Upon check-in we were giving a different room than was previously booked (one of the girls husband booked the room for us and they had a room for him. when they saw it was us they moved our room...still didn't know where they had originally put us) to one that would barely fit 2 people. The view and balcony were a nice touch though. The room would have been great had it been only 2 of us. We asked for a roll away bed only to get it 5 hours after we checked in and having to call 3 times. The honors memeber who booked the room was a platinum member and when we asked to see if we could get a bigger room they proceeded to charge us! We spent almost a hour agruing with the front desk people to finally get a suite that was big enough for all of us.
The location was great! Right next to the beach and Nikki Beach. The Beach attendants were average. Over all it was a lack luster stay and we were ready to go to Key West when our stay was over. I hope their service has improved since our stay.

  • Liked — The location was great- It was why we chose to stay there
  • Disliked — The service could have been much better

After arriving to Miami for business and arriving at our beyond sketchy hotel, we quickly checked out and headed over to the Bentley. We walked in (after hours, mind you) and were treated with exellent service and given beautiful rooms. The following day, we held a business meeting in our room and couldn't have been happier with our accommodations. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a no fuss hotel in Miami and would definitely stay there again.

This Hotel the best hotel in Miami Beach as far as location. It is near everything and walking distance to all the best restaurants like Prime 112 or Joe's. If you book at this hotel be sure to book the Suites 907 or 1001, They might be a little pricey and much more than the regular rooms at the hotel but it's worth it every penny.
The beach is nice and not to crowded and you can use the club at NIKKI Beach if you would like to have some Rose wine and a nice lunch.
