The hotel is great. No doubt about it. The thing is: service is great, but theyll charge you for everything. Its fair to charge, i just think since were not talking about a 500 star hotel, the prices should be lower. The charges for the umbrellas and chairs at the beach are unacceptable.

Thank you for taking the time post. In regards to cost, our prices are similar to other hotels on South Beach. Paying a top-notch price also comes with top-notch service and at Loews Miami Beach Hotel, service is something we take very seriously.

Have just returned from a 10 day break in Florida, 3 nights of which we stayed at Loews Miami Beach Hotel. Fantastic hotel. The rooms were exemplary and we were fortunate to be one of the first to use the amazing new Cabanna's. Worth every single penny. Ernanda looked after us by the pool and she was brilliant, nothing was too much trouble for her, we felt totally pampered and taken care of. Can't wait to go back!!

I'll start with the high points: Benny down at the pool is absolutely fabulous. After pool staff gave away my pool lounge chairs twice in less than 3 hours...even with my personal belongings on the chairs, Benny and the manager corrected situation and gave my husband I covered beds seats for the day. Benny was even able to find my missing book. Ernanda, our server at the pool, also took extra special care of us after our rough beginnings at the pool. Ernanda truly understands great service and is so attentive. Marvin at the pool also gave us a great tour of the Cabanas which I would highly rccmd. Also Chakia and Nelson at the front desk were exceptionally professional. The restaurant had great food and the views from the patio were beautiful. White Wine Sangria is a must have!

Now for the low points: Upon arrival, no rooms were available and so I had to store my luggage. When luggage guy went to retrieve my bags he accidentally broke the metal closure off of my bag. He apologized, but it has now left me with a bag that either have to try to repair or replace. (at least he/Nick was nice and honest about it) During my 7 days, I ended up being in 3 different rooms: First room was not in main building, cramped and funiture was old. 2nd room was located in close proximity to some major party people who partied and slammed doors all night long. 3rd room was across the hall from a very loud family whom I had to call security on at 12:40AM. Between kids running down hallways, noisy neighbors, the not so comfy beds and the stains on the comforter....I didn't get much sleep. Did I forget the drunk couple that nearly accosted me and the nice couple in the penthouse suite on the elavator.

The pool is too small and too overcrowded. Everything and I mean everything at the Loews is ala carte: The gym cost an extra $10, parking $40. I even had to pay $40 for the rental car that was already parked...bc I had to rent the car at 5pm in order to have it available prior to 8AM since Hertz at hotel doesn't open early. Wow! Turns out that when my husband came down to miami to meet me that weekend, we found parking across the street for $16 dollars...ironinically the same parking garage used by the Loews. Additionally there is a service charge on everything whether you get good service or NOT!

Hotel is overpriced and moreover, the guests at this hotel are noisy and uncontrollable and the hotel doesn't seem to mind. This loew's should take a page from the Loew's in San Diego!

Having a top-notch staff is something we take very seriously and we’re glad that you not only enjoyed the pool but the staff that took care of you as well. We will be sure to recognize Benny, Ernanda, Marvin, Chakia and Nelson for their outstanding efforts and assistance with making your stay enjoyable. We hope to welcome you again in the future.

I stayed at the Loews Hotel Sobe for a week on mid July. This is by far the most terrible experience I've had at any property in the U.S.A. Big problems were over charges to my room and misplacing of bills between credit cards which lead to a confusion at time of check out. The lobby assistant didn't even knew what Diners Club was! Anyway , a terrible experience at the bar where one of the bartenders literally laughed at my outfit which I found unacceptable and made the complain with the duty manager. Weird people on the pool area jumping with clothe and shoes to the swimming pool , no one at the hotel said anything about it. For sure this was my second and last time at this property, as they know this hotel is always booked for the location they just don't care for the service they give.

Stayed here for 3 nights.

There is plenty to do in South Beach and this hotel has the perfect location on Ocean Drive - a 5 minute walk to the Lincoln Rd Mall, 2 mins to the lovely ambience and restaurants on Espanola Way and a few steps the designer shops on Collins Ave.
Most of the 'beachfront' hotels in this area sit behind Lummus Park so you would have to cross Ocean drive and the park to reach the beach. The Loews is at the northern tip of Lummus, just past the park and sits directly on the beach. If you like to have a beach on your doorstep then this is perfect for you.

On arrival, the the cheery staff whisked our car away (for the rather pricey valet charge of $30/day) and it was always available within 10 mins of a call to reception.
All reception, baggage and concierge staff were polite and helpful.
The lobby area is beautiful and leads to a casual sports bar, Starbucks coffee/breakfast area and main restaurant
We had breakfast at the main restaurant only once - buffet style at $29 each but could not fault it. We chose to eat breakfast on the outdoor patio overlooking the pool which was lovely. I imagine that lunch here would be good too but we ate at the pool bar. The other days we chose the Starbucks cafe which was great - we ordered our coffees and helped ourselves to the small buffet style breakfast while we waited (toast, cereals, yoghurts, muffins, croissants etc). We took our food out to one of the patios which was a pleasant start to the day. Less expensive!
The freeform pool is beautiful. Security staff check everyone entering the pool area from both the beach and the hotel, resulting in a good standard of guest here (plenty of 'riff-raff to be found elsewhere in Miami!) There are simply loads of staff around the pool area on hand to find you the sunbed of your choice and take orders for food and beverages (menus are attached to each bed for perusal!). Complimentary water flavoured with a choice of strawberries of kiwi fruit were available at self-serve stations. A small shop next to the pool sold the essentials that you may have forgotten to pack. Private cabanas on 2 levels overlooked the pool but I never saw anyone rent them.
The pool bar was fine and we ate there twice. The usual cocktails, beers and wine and a menu with nachos, hot dogs, burgers etc was available to eat at tables or, for the super lazy, delivered to your sunbed! So easy to take a quick stroll along the beach as it was only a few yards away.
The beach itself is beautiful. White sands, clean (bins in a perfect line every 30 yards ran for miles!) quiet but with activities available for those looking for a jet-ski or parasail.
Rooms- we had a luxury room. As balconies are limited for these rooms we requested one before we arrived and did indeed get one. It had a partial view of the beach but mostly looked onto the hotel next door. We did not really use the balcony as they are all so close together there was no privacy. Our neighbours' 60-a-day fag habit made it a no-go area! The room itself was adequate with a good shower which is always a nice surprise.
We were granted a 2 hour extension for check out so we stayed until 2. We then put our luggage into a storage room, spent the afternoon at the pool and paid $10 each to use the Spa to shower and change before leaving in the evening. Good value as it gave us the best part of an extra day. The Spa is lovely.

Downsides:
The Loews has a non smoking policy but our room reeked of cigarette smoke. We quickly realised that it was coming through the vent in the bathroom. We notified reception and they sent a security guard (??) who advised us that it was impossible to pin point the source of the problem. Starting with the guys next door may have been a good plan!!
They sent us a very noisy air purifier which we promptly returned. I have to say that they did offer us another room but we were leaving the next day so decided to stay put. Instead they gave us a voucher for lunch at the pool which was a nice gesture.
Tipping in Miami is a pain. Everyone from the valet staff to the pool attendants are looking for gratuities and it becomes an issue after a day or two (especially as they help themselves to a hefty service charge and then leave a space for you to add a further gratuity - just rude!

Overall, a good standard of hotel which more than met our needs for the short time we were there. Miami beach is all about having a convenient location as you walk and cycle everywhere so it ticks the boxes.

This is an awesome property. Great service, great facilities and just overall a great stay. Highly recommended!!!!!!! From the spa to the pool everything is first class. The food was great and you are just out the back door to the beach and out the front door to shopping and the strip. We only regret that we did not plan to stay longer.

The hotel has a policy of adding 20% to EVERY bill. The wait staff are Supposed to tell you. Mine did not , nor did they tll the tourist family and the next table. I caught it, they most likely did not...shameful.
