“Lively and entertaining!”
Reviewed May 22, 2013

If you want an overall fun and lively experience then this is the area to stay. The music starts at 10 Am and goes until late. A very walking area. I loved walking around the park each morning and the beach is beautiful. Restaurants have good food and all have large 2 for one mixed drinks! You can do as much partying as your heart desires ! We had a great time and actually were in bed before MN because we like our early mornings too! A very convenient area too! I love the very international flare and variety of this area. A 3 night long weekend is a perfect amount of time to experience this area. There is a lot nearby that we didn't see so I would go back !

“Nice to drive or walk”
Reviewed May 19, 2013

If you walk and are from out of town, stay on Ocean Drive, Collins Avenue, and Lincoln Road primarily, and especially at night. The neighborhoods all through the South Beach area are fun to drive thru and look at the historic art deco buildings, but don't do this at night as a tourist.

“Worth walking the strip”
Reviewed May 18, 2013

Fun hotels, mostly noticeable on Ocean Drive, but once you know the Deco characteristics, you see the influence everywhere. There are great walks, good shopping and small fun restaurants. Very human scale as few buildings are over 3 storeys.

“Art Deco District”
Reviewed May 14, 2013

Fabulous architecture! I love how they have preserved the buildings and have only renovated the interiors. They have freshly painted the buildings to spruce them up but the original designs are in tact.

“Miami beach scene”
Reviewed May 12, 2013 via mobile

There is no denying that the old Art Deco architecture in this part of Miami Beach is great to see. There would be little need to pay to be shown as it is everywhere as you walk down the main Boulevarde . The area itself though is another matter. This would be great for young party goers and beach goers. As mature age tourists we found the area very noisy, sleazy and almost impossible to navigate in a car due to the congestion. This was in the daytime so I certainly wouldn't wish to be out in the evening in this area at our age. No doubt there are other areas for the older generation but we were keen to get out of the area after walking for a a couple of hours in the heat and noise. The beach is beautiful but good luck finding somewhere to sit!
