“Excellent authentic South American food”

Food was very tasty, but more importantly it was authentic. Ambiance was great. It was a great cultural experience.

“Great location and ambiance”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 10, 2013

We enjoyed the food here; it was within an easy walking distance of our hotel and we found it on trip advisor. We enjoyed the Bolivian food, which we had never had before. Lots of exotic flavors to enjoy. The place was small, but with nice decor and ambiance. They misunderstood our order and brought out one wrong item, but quickly corrected the error when we pointed it out. Prices were also reasonable compared to going rates in South Beach.

“Fantastic meal”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 9, 2013 via mobile

Decided to try this restaurant after reading the reviews on here and being a lover if all things South America it seemed worth a try.

Gosh it was well worth it, we had an amazing meal.
The service was spot on, our server so friendly and helpful. He took great pride in explaining the menu items and giving us the correct pronunciation everything.

The Empanadas starter was the best I've had and the corn pancake with cheese to die for.
My husbands steak looked and tasted tender and tasty. I had fish with mango sauce which was very very nice.

We saved the best till last though- the desert menu came inside Cuban cigar box (great touch) and we decided to try the 4 milk desert. Best desert ever- it's like a Victoria sponge cake gone wild!

In the words of John Barrowman- fantastic fantastic fantastic

The price- $100 for 2 cocktails, 2 glasses wine, 2 starters, 2 mains, 2 deserts and that includes the tip- you can't ask for a more reasonably priced delicious meal with great service and nice restaurant.

Go try this place

“A true gem”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 1, 2013

I found Bolivar through a Groupon while on my first trip to Miami. My impression of Miami was that most restaurants put their resources in getting customers in and the presentation of the food - not really the taste nor quality. Bolivar was very different!
1) The service staff is amazing - never seen such friendly waiters.
2) The food was top notch. I had little experience in South American food and basically asked the waiter to recommend me something. Each recommendation was dead on.
3) The food was so good that we came back the next day - the staff recognized us and had more delicious recommendations for us.
4) Did I mention that there was life music ...
