“More for a romantic atmosphere than a great dinner...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 1, 2014 via mobile

We went on a Sunday, waited 45 minutes for our table. Drinks at the bar were delicious, mainly because of the bartenders awesome suggestions. The garden is beautiful, trees, mason jar hanging lights, sting lights in the trees. It really
is beautiful, but unfortunately the food falls short. We ordered a few apps, they were ok, pretty salty, but we ate them. For dinner I ordered the short ribs and the waiter convinced me to try the veal osso bucco instead, ok sound good.... Everyone else ordered, eggplant, and 2 pasta bolognese. Waiter came back 10 minutes later to inform me they ran out of veal, umm thanks for getting me all excited for it just to turn around and tell me I can't have it. Short ribs it is.... It came out on reasonable amount of time, it was good. Just good, we are all Italian so maybe we are used to home made. But again, salty, not bursting with flavor, it just lacked any wow factors to get me to come back. It was busy so it does have followers, but you wonder if it's for the exclusivity and scene of the soho house and not really for the food. There's better places in Miami, but if you've already done the rounds then it's worth a trip to try it out for yourself :)
That was my second and probably last, just not memorable and lacks an impact on my taste buds !

“Ordered everything in the menu”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 24, 2014 via mobile

I believe that the best meals are the ones which include a vast diversity of fantastic dishes and in best company. Cecconi's, thanks for a lovely evening.
Dim lights, outdoors seating, laid back, semi-casual, comfortable chairs, cool weather, the table was ready on time, (valet parking could use some extra help), we were greeted and escorted to our table within minutes.

We ordered: zucchini fries, lemony quinoa salad, crispy mini Brussels sprouts, artichoke bruschetta and all were prepared to perfection. WoWs were flying.

We ordered branzino, spaghetti with lobster and more fish. All were prepared AND BONED to perfection. Yes, fish tasted fresh out of the water. (And we are beyond picky about seafood).

Deserts: all Classic Italian, succumbed to tiramisu. This is not a nouvelle cuisine restaurant but a classic, laid back Italian with dishes prepared to perfection.

Go. You will be glad you did.

“A truly great Italian restaurant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 22, 2014

This is a real gem of a restaurant. Very authentically Italian, it was full of Italian customers when we were there, which is a great seal of approval. The pasta was delicate and well flavoured, the bread sticks seemed home made, desserts were delicious and the service was attentive and friendly - again with Italian staff. The decor is beautiful, in a semi-outdoor setting with beautiful lighting and a very relaxed ambiance. And what's more, it's very good value for money.

“Stunning Dining area, everything else, average.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 13, 2014

Wow, what an impressively beautiful place. Unexpected when you arrive at a relatively plain exterior entrance. It is so beautiful, it transformed a 3 star to a 4 star. It was lit in a very attractive way. Tables well laid out and very diverse.

Great looking crowd and a cool bar scene. As you will unlikely have to wait as they cannot seem to honor a reservation, don't worry, because waiting at the bar was the best part of our trip to Cecconi's.

We were a group of 12, so I always discount the food and service somewhat…even still I cannot go beyond 3 star for each.

Was this helpful? Please let me know.
