Front desk was very courteous & helpful, concierge was very knowledgeable, room had incredible ocean view, spa showers, bath robes and very upscale clean washrooms. Thankful the room had free WiFi and flat screen TV.

We were at the hotel for a wedding and it certainly is a great place for that.
The hotel is carefully renovated and lots of art deco elements were nicely conserved. The lobby and public areas are simply beautiful and cozy. I also loved the rooms: smart layout, great shower and stunning ocean view.

However, if you really want to have the "South Beach Experience", I cannot recommend to stay there. It is too far away from the cool spots at Lincoln Road / Ocean Drive etc. Walking is not an option.

The reason why I don't give 5 stars is the reservations department. I won't bother you with the whole story, but they really have a mess there. The other annoying thing was the lack of umbrellas in the pool area, it was pretty hard finding some shade on a hot day. And lastly, service was inconsistent, sometimes with rude waiters.

Well, otherwise... A beautiful place.

I really enjoyed our 1 night stay here after our cruise. The staff was very friendly, the view gorgeous, the pool area nice, and the breakfast buffet expensive but delicious. The bathroom was small and average, but the bed was the best hotel bed I've ever slept in. I highly recommend if you can get the room for under 200/night.

Went to The Palms Aug. 2010 with 2 other families and 10 kids. (ranging from 14-25)
The hotel is beautiful and very well maintained. The staff was wonderful. Even though it was not in the heart of South Beach we just taxied it. Must go to Opa for dinner. Lots of fun. Nikki Beach is a must also. Go to the everglades too!

Nice location with the entire service one can expect from such a Hotel. The staff has always been friendly and ready to help. Agreeable pool and direct access to the beach with service. We did not test the spa as we did not find time. Rooms have been renovated recently and are very pleasant. Don’t expect to have very quite rooms or quite guests, you are in Miami Beach and during the week-end people come to party or are going to a wedding taking place at the hotel.

This is one really nice hotel. The service is excellent. I rented a superior ocen view room and was not dissapointed (magnificent view). Just make sure you get a higher floor; I can see how a lower floor would be blocked by the palm trees. There is absolutely no available parking on MB, so make sure you do the valet. It's $27 per night but worth it (you'll spend that and then some taking cabs and going into lots which are often full anyway). The valet guys actually sprint to get your car so don't penny pinch. Service was fantastic. I needed more pillows and I can almost swear they knocked on my door before I hung up. Room service and the hotel restaurant can be a little pricey, but there are a few Cuban spots within a few blocks to get something quick and with the valet parking, you can go out and dirve to spots on40th or there abouts where you can get chinese food, cuban food, KFC, a jewish cafe, etc. I heartily recommend this hotel. It is also far enough away from the hustle of the Sobe Nightlife for peace and quiet but also close enough to venture into Sobe and enjoy the sights and shopping. The only negative is that the toilet is a separate room from the bath.
