The 2 bedroom 2 bathroom layout was perfect for a girls trip with 4 of us. The location of the Hilton Grand Vacations Club is perfect, right across the street from Lummus Park (where the beach is), and within walking distance to Lincoln Rd Mall, lots of restaurants, but not at the "crazy" end of South Beach further south where it's loud all night long. We were able to have fun and still sleep at night! The fully equipped kitchen allowed us to easily enjoy snacks and drinks at the vacation rental rather than going out for every little thing in pricey Miami Beach.

The hotel is nicely updated with modern furnishings and nice finishes (granite, stainless, etc). We had some technical issues on our stay with a malfunctioning fridge (first a noisy one, then replaced by a broken one, finally a working one) but management was extremely apologetic and nice about it (offered us mini bar freebies). Also, a couple of the electrical plugs didn't work. Wi-Fi was fairly consistent, with some deadspots throughout the unit we stayed in. This is a vacation rental and not a full service hotel, so there isn't daily maid service or a pool. The workout room was nice, and the hot tub deck made for a lovely area to relax in the evenings while people watching on Ocean Dr. The hotel does provide free beach towels (so no need to pack those).

If you're going by taxi, either give the driver the address or tell the driver you're going to The Betsey (a larger well known hotel right next door). The Hilton Grand Vacations Club is actually two buildings, Ocean Plaza and McAlpine, the Hilton logo is very small on the glass doors, and not all cab drivers are aware that this is a Hilton property.

Room Tip: No need to rent a car in Miami Beach. The daily parking is very expensive ($40/night) and you can walk to most places and cab it to the rest relatively inexpensively.

It is really about the location: beautiful place, you just cross the street and find yourself in a gorgeous beach. There are, however, some drawbacks, mainly: very small room (especially considering the price), and costly parking (the hotel vallet charges 35 dollars per day, although you can keep your car in a public parking lot two blocks away for 20 dollars a day).

We visited Miami in December 2011. We stayed in the Hilton hotel in the vacation club side.
The lobby was decorated in art deco and was very striking. The rooms had a nice roomy kitchen and sitting area. The bedroom and the bathroom were not as spacious, but were adequate. The closet was very small. The staff was helpful. The main reason I gave this hotel a 4 star rating is because of the fantastic location. It was very conveniently located. The beautiful Lummus Beach was across the street and an easy walk. There are also many restaurants you can very easily walk to. The famous Lincoln Street is a must see and was also within walking distance. The main reason I gave this hotel a 4 star rating is because of the fantastic location. Please remember when reading this that we did not stay in the main part of the hotel.

I travelled here for 1 week in Feb 2012 for a girls week!
Perfectly situated and friendly staff. Clean rooms...beach across the road... 5 mins walk to all the nightlife but quiet enough to be away from it.
I fell in love with Miami on this trip and I'd definately go back. (Tomorrow If I could)
Lincoln for shops...Guess, Armani Exchange....beach...cocktails, cool diners, friendly people and the Clevelander on a Sat night was pure fun! Girls paradise!

Small but neat hotel. Art deco is in full force here. Lobby is pleasant and bright. Porch has comfortable seating. Parking is $35 dollars a day as there is no on street parking. Valet makes it convenient. Staff are accommodating.

Room Tip: Find out first where your room is facing! Don't assume it's a good view!
