I wish we had more time to enjoy the Beach and Pool area but we were busy exploring South Beach. A very nice set-up on the beach with chairs and umbrellas for the guests. The pool area was very nice but by the time we got back after a day of exploring the shade was over most of it. That's alright as we were not there to sun bathe. Had we wanted to it was a very nice, sizable and clean pool area. Food was also good right there. Bar service too - that's a plus. Clean room, no issues. We stayed in the second floor, front of the hotel, overlooking Ocean Drive and no complaints of noise as you are at the south end of the busy district.

The Savoy Hotel has the advantage of being right in the middle of South Beach with all its color, excitement and excellent shopping, while at the same time providing its guests with a serenity and direct access to a beautiful, deep beach.

Many of the hotel rooms are suites and most rooms have French doors opening onto views of the ocean and/or the two pools.

The hotel never feels overcrowded-- whether you’re in the public rooms, or lying on the beach or on the chaise lounges around the pools --even when, as is frequently the case, the hotel is fully occupied. I think that’s probably because there’s a vast amount of space per guest. The horseshoe shaped hotel building is only 3 stories high on a very large piece of beachfront land. This particular structure creates a sense of space and openness, unusual in Miami hotels.

The management and the staff are excellent, warm and accommodating. Can't say enough good things about them.

The hotel serves breakfast and lunch on a dining terrace by the pool or on the beach. There is also a broad range of good restaurants within a few blocks.

Since our first visit to the Savoy last year, there have been routine upgrades – new carpeting, new flat panel TV’s, new beach chairs, etc.

We LOVE the Savoy Hotel --can't wait to go back again.

LOVED The Savoy. It's at the south end of South Beach so a little quieter and off the beaten path...but close enough to walk to the action. We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite with a kitchenette, living room with pullout sofa and dining table. It had 2 decent sized bathrooms and lots of closet space for 5 girls. Room was clean and bathrooms felt recently updated.
Beach is beautiful, quiter than other parts of SOBE and you get beach chairs and towels included with your resort fee.
Never ate at the restaurant, but did order drinks on the beach. A can of Coke was $8, yikes!
Would most definitely stay here again. Tried to January but was sold out.

Got a good deal with the Savoy by signing up to their email alerts, so booked a suite. First impressions of the hotel are a little underwhelming due to the drab decor in the hallways and the room.

However, once you start using the ENORMOUS suites it is extremely comfortable, with friendly helpful staff, a really nice pool deck, access to the beach, and close proximity to the best of Ocean Drive, South Pointe Park and Washington Avenue and beyond. There's a small but well appointed gym as well, and the new bar - while quiet at this time - has the potential to be a real asset.

So a little revamp, and maybe a small kitchen area in the suites (they could easily accommodate it) and this could really be about the best option in all of South Beach.

We found this hotel on Tripadvisor - it had a great rating and was close to the area we wanted. As it turns out, the great reviews were right on the money.

The Savoy is one of the art deco properties on Ocean Drive at 5th Street. It backs directly onto the beach and the ocean. When we arrived our room wasn't ready so we enjoyed a very tasty lunch on the terrace, which was a nice change from wintery Canada. Honestly, a Corona tastes much nicer when it isn't filling up with show. The bellman, Tony, was very entertaining and took care of our bags while we ate.

Our room was an oceanview one-bedroom suite. We were on the top (third) floor and had three balconies overlooking the beach and the pools. There was a sofa bed for the girls and a queen bed in the bedroom. A kitchenette had a cooktop, fridge, and microwave.

The pools were very nice - one heated and one less-so, with plenty of loungers and an excellent supply of mojitos courtesy of Rocky. The beach was busy but not crowded - there had been some windy days so the water was a bit rougher than usual, but still very enjoyable.

For dinner, and breakfast the next morning, we made the short walk to Big Pink, a couple of blocks south and west, but that's another review.

The room was very comfortable with excellent air conditioning, but to be honest, our girls are getting a bit big for sofabeds.

We actually stayed a second time, the night after we got back from our cruise. Once again, the location was a huge asset as it was Art Deco Weekend, and the half dozen blocks north of the hotel on Ocean Drive were closed off and filled with booths and special events. We had the same room by request. We ate at the 11th Street Diner for lunch, Big Pink for dinner, and the hotel restaurant for breakfast.

Overall the staff was very helpful, friendly, and accommodating. The hotel dates from the mid-1930s and has all kinds of charm and character. We would definitely stay at the Savoy next time we visit Miami.

Spent 5 nights at the end of January. Surprised how quiet it was but not so bad as the location was in short walk to the action. Wished the bar and restaurant were open a little later but not such a big deal. Out bedroom was comfortable but the living area seemed like a bit of a waste. Lots of kitchen cupboards with nothing in them. Didn't make sense. Just a couple of small things one being the extremely cheap coffee maker and same of the blow dryer. There was no shelving In The bathroom so I had to leave my cosmetics on the floor. Didn't like that. The shower was temperamental and no plug for the tiny tub We were on the parking lot with an apt right across the way so we had our curtains closed once the sun was setting. The serving and cleaning staff were very friendly however the front desk staff lacked knowledge of the area for some reason The pool was lovely and the proxo, ity to the beach was great. I thought the food and drink prices were very good. With a few tweaks this would be a very good property. I would consider returning
