We headed to Las Olas Cafe on a recommendation from a friend. It did not disappoint! The Cuban coffees (we went with cortaditos) were strong, sweet, and delicious. We went with empanadas and an order of plantains. Everything was fantastic--I would definitely recommend it.

If inside isn't your thing (it's definitely more of a takeout place with a couple of tables), there's a window on the corner so you can people watch at the same time. When I was there, the line at the window was about three deep across. It's that good. Nothing fancy...just great food.

More of a family run, corner cafe. Not much ambiance, & very small seating area, but the food more than makes up for it!!!! They're not open very late I believe they close at 8pm. The fish was fresh & very tasty. The chicken dish throws a circus of flavor on your taste buds!!! Do yourself & your tastebuds a favor & give it a try!

Recently discovered this dive April of this year on my trip to Miami. My daughter and I loved it! Good cuban food and a ton of it for a low price. Very excited to return during last weeks visit to Miami (June 2016) we went in for lunch ordered our food took a seat only took about two bites of my delicious cuban sandwich when I looked up and discovered a roach crawling on the glass casing (you know where customers look in to chose their food). Now it was on the customer side of the glass not the food (server) side. But, that did it for me. I whispered to my daughter what I had just seen we threw our food away and never looked back, nor will we ever.

I know restaurants have bugs but a roach in broad day light, I can only imagine how many hundreds more must be hanging out when the people aren't around. Just unsanitary.

If you don't mind roaches and like good cuban food then stop in and enjoy.

If you ever go to Miami Beach, you have to try the tiny Las Olas Café on 6th street, just few blocks away from the madding crowd of Ocean Drive,
They offer you an excellent 'cortadito' and 'café con leche' and and fresh orange juice.
We went there one morning on the way to the local supermarket and returned the day after for lunch.
We had cuban sandwiches and empanadas.
Our favorite was the beef and chicken empanadas. They were freshly made and had plenty of meat in them.
Genuine Cuban food. friendly, hard-working people with no attitude,
This is a great unexpensive place where you can eventually pick up quick meals to take to the beach with you.
Enjoy!
