“Great way to vacation before Cruise, and experience South Beach”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 16, 2006

My wife and I stayed here in advance of a cruise out of Miami for our 30th wedding anniversary, Jan 27-30, 2006. The hotel lobby is impressive, and while we arrived at noon on Friday, we were able to check right in, and were having a nice outdoor lunch before we knew it. The pool set up is amazing, with great service to set up towels and a sun facing chaise lounge direction. We had dinner on Friday night at the Ritz Americana restaurant in a booth surrounded by sheer curtains, a beautiful experience with food to match. The hotel is a two block walk from the open air Lincoln road shops, coffee shops, and restaurants, great as we did not want to deal with a rental car. Dinner on Saturday night at Wish, on South Beach is also recommended. Catholic mass on South Beach is an experience not to be missed, as Father Albert Cutie says the mass at St Francis De Sales, and has a TV show and has written a book on relationships. We did walk thru the Loews on Sunday after church, and they were handing out bottles of water to the many guests checking out. Sunday Brunch at Emeril's with jazz was a nice touch, order the $6 pancakes, best bargain on the menu. Then Monday at 11:30 am we took a cab to the cruise ship and off we were. I would recommend the Ritz Carlton South Beach if you are looking for a great way to start a cruise vacation.

We moved to the Ritz Carlton in South Beach after one night at an inferior hotel. We had a beautiful executive suite that was perfect for my husband and two teenagers. The staff was very attentive and friendly, and the pool staff even greeted us by name. I'll admit the rates were a bit pricey, but I'll never stay anywhere else in Miami Beach again!

I stayed in the Ritz Cartlon with my two girlfriends August 10-17th. We were blown away by the personal touch each person gives. The doorman remembered each of our names and greeted us each time we left and entered. They sent up a great birthday present on the night of my birthday. I had three problems: (1) The parking is way too expensive and (2) the deposit required for incidentials is way tooo much! and (3) The view from our room was awful.....we were facing a condo buidling which was not impressive at all!

This is a nice hotel and probably a good choice if you're travelling with your family. The staff was great and the spa is top notch. However, if you're looking for a more happenning scene stay at the Delano or Shore Club. It is unlikely you will be partying at this hotel.

We visited the Ritz in South Beach a week ago.
What a wonderful place! I have never experienced such a
friendly and professional staff. The Club Level food is superb. The rooms are clean, the view great and you can really swim in the lovely pool. Lots to watch there too!

My wife and I recently stayed at Ritz Carlton South Beach for 3 days and informed the hotel that we were staying there for my wife's birthday. We booked the least expensive room and made reservations for dinner in the Americana restaurant.

On arrival at mid-day we were given a very friendly greeting by the doorman and bell boy, and offered a cold drink. The reception desk clerk apologised that the room was not yet ready but wished my wife "Happy Birthday" [smart personal touch]. We sat by the pool until the room was ready and when we got to our room we were delighted to see that we had been upgraded to a pool side room with balcony and a side view of the ocean. In the room there was a plate full of truffles and the message "Happy Birthday". [another smart personal touch]. The room was clean, large and modern except for the TV. The bathroom was also large with two sinks and a separate shower and bath. The soaps and shampoo were the premium quality Ritz Carlton products.

The hotel is right on the beach, [it has its own private beach] along side the new prommanade and has a location second to none. The staff by the pool and at the grill were extremeley efficient and courteous.

Dinner in the Americana was a delight. My wife received a birthday card from the charming hostess, signed by all the staff and also a "Happy Birthday" truffle plate and candle at the end of the meal. The food was excellent, as was the service.

During our stay we walked for miles along the beach and boardwalk and each time we came back to the smiling faces of the hotel staff. We were really made to feel part of the family.

The hotel did a splendid job in making us feel happy, relaxed and special, in comfortable, upmarket surroundings. They went that extra mile and we are telling!

I think that the standards are falling - I've just returned from an 11-night holiday having been to the hotel four times previously in 2005.
Firstly, the Bulgari in-room ammenities have disappeared and been replaced with inferior Ritz Carlton products.
Secondly, the champagne in the Club Lounge has been replaced with sparkling wine.
Thirdly, the housekeeping services go from bad to worse.
The only two things which draw me there are the wonderful service which I receive from Igor in Guest Relations and also from the staff in the Club Lounge.
Prices are rising here, so the economics do not make sense.
