“Fine dining Italian!”

No need to leave the hotel for superb Italian cuisine and great service. Wine list tends to top end bottles but there are bargains in the $50 range. Best of four restaurants we dined at in MB.

“As good as advertised...great choice for a special occasion.”
Reviewed September 27, 2013

I have been hearing about how good is Scapetta for a while and my wife and I finally went to check it out. We made reservations for a Wednesday night and were promptly seated upon arrival. First off, some context as to what to expect from Scarpetta. It's one of the best reviewed restaurants in one of the most expensive and popular hotels in Miami (the Fountainbleu). Don't go expecting to pay $2 valet and entrees for $10. If you go, know it's not going to be cheap and it's not a vegan restaurant. But to celebrate a special occasion, it hard to beat. Moving on to the food and the service: We promptly seated by a friendly host. The vibe is energetic, even on a Wednesday evening during the "slow" season. I'd like to recognize our waiter, Kenny. He was really nice and when we asked for the Miami Spice menu, did not not look at us as charity cases as sometimes waiters do when you ask for the Miami Spice Menu. He helped us with making our minds between choices by detailing more in depth the items. My wife had the steak tartar for appetizer and the roast duck for entree, with the coconut panacotta for dessert. I had the octopus appetizer ( which is a $5 add-on to the Miami Spice Menu) and pork duo as an entree, with the polenta cheesecake. Everything was delicious. The Octopus was soft and had a hint of a charbroiled taste that complemented it. The pork was soft, well cooked and exquisitely marinated with a serving of vegetables that worked to enhanced the flavor, rather than to take away from it. Our restaurant experience was fantastic, valet was $12 with validation ($20 otherwise) to pick up the car (expensive, but not surprising for Miami Beach) and prompt. I look forward to returning to one of the overall best restaurant experiences in Miami Beach.

“Prepare to be impressed.Very impressed.”
Reviewed September 27, 2013

We arrived with no preconceived notions or knowledge of this famous restaurant. Initially, we were impressed by the Fontainebleau Hotel and then even more so by the beautifully appointed restaurant. Our table with the oceanview was perfect.
Can’t recall ever being so consistently impressed by cuisine, service, and ambience. Service: top flight. We adored the polenta- light as air with a mélange of truffled mushrooms. The Long Island duck was pure bliss -words don't do it justice. The Lamb Agnolotti -each bite ecstasy. The waiter - a true professional- savvy about ingredients and prep style. A very popular restaurant- used by locals for celebrations, hence, many parties of 8 to 12. Glad our reservations were early- to avoid the crush. Can't wait to return.

“Great Italian in Miami”
Reviewed September 26, 2013

As a fan of Italian food, I can say that the pasta was very good.

My friends and I ordered fish, pasta, salad. All was amazing.

The deserts were perfect, my favorites: panna cotta, had some pineapple, passion feuit flavor. The chocolate cake, the ice cream with peanut and the cheesecake. Those were one of the best deserts I have tried in a restaurant in Miami Beach.
