Nice hotel, but absolutely no soundproofing whatsoever! At least we came prepared, thanks to another review on here, we came with earplugs. There is music playing until past 4 am, then we were awakened, at 7am by the sound of the valets who seemed to know everyone on the street and chatted away very loudly. We had an ocean view room, smaller size, but this hotel is in the deco district so we knew the rooms would be small. Linens on the bed were soft and the towels in the bathroom were plush and also soft. Shower head was amazing, centered in the ceiling of the shower similar to a rain shower. We spent most of the Saturdayout and about and came back to the room at 3:30 to discover our room had not been cleaned, we grabbed a room attendant and got clean towels and figured I'd dint matter anyway. We did walk across the beach only to find that there were no towels available, didn't fancy lying on a plastic beach chair at that point. The only meal we ate at the hotel was breakfast, which was overpriced. Happy to say that we stayed in South Beach, deco district but would not stay there again.

When I arrived to Miami, I was unfortunately sick so I had to ask help from reception. They arranged house/hotel visit for this doctor, it was great I didnt have to worry about anything. They arranged help, provided me thee etc. for free. We stayed in the penthouse and it was fab. bed and room was big and we had ocean view. I like the hotel and people working there, it was bit pricy but I dont go to Miami "every day" food was also excellent at the hotel. I liked this place and if you want to stay in Ocean drive all hotels are bit more expensive.

Stopped in for dinner only nite before Super Bowl. Crowded on a Saturday nite, but we were seated in a nice spot outside. Professional and efficient service brought drinks quickly. The paella with lobster was excellent. Price was reasonable. Our waitress Erica worked hard and was very pleasant. Recommended for Ocean Drive South Beach dining.

Just returned from a three night stay at this hotel. It was without question the worst three nights of my life. What no one tells you is that a majority of the hotel rooms face either the inner courtyard or a nightclub directly across the street. The loud live band played until midnight on Thursday night. Okay, we are not that old that we can't hack it until midnight -- by loud I mean you could not turn your TV up loud enough to hear the sound over the music. Friday and Saturday are completely different. In addition to the live band until midnight, at midnight a DJ starts playing that techno, bass heavy music which went on until 3 a,m. Friday and 3:30 a.m. on Saturday. It almost made us physically ill it was so bad. And we were treated like we just weren't "hip" enough to hack it. We thought it was interesting that when we checked out, not one person asked us how our stay was. Really for the price, the small size of the room and no sleep; unless you are some kind of sadist, never, ever, for any reason go to this hotel.

My fiance caught a great deal at Hotel Breakwater the weekend after Ultrafest for my 30th birthday, and holy crap was it EPIC. I mean, seriously the best spot on South Beach.

We got a VIP Penthouse Suite which had a private hottub and lounge area on the rooftop. It also has a private connecting door to the rooftop lounge that overlooks Ocean Dr and the actual 'beach' on South Beach.

There's a club nestled in between this hotel and the one next door, just underneath the pool a DJ is spinning dance music from 2pm to 6am.

Having the VIP Penthouse with the private rooftop lounge and hottub was absolutely essential to staying in South Beach. When we were tired of the club, (and spending an absurd amount of money on drinks) we were all able to go upstairs and party in our room, with our liquor, and the music at a perfect level to talk over yet still enjoy.

The room itself was fantastically appointed. We had a pullout couch in addition to the regular bed, plus a seating area, and everyone was able to comfortably move around when everything was the most chaotic.

I've seen complaints about this hotel from families with children, and I can understand why. This location was meant to be used for PARTYING and enjoying all the delicious nightlife that Miami, specifically South Beach, has to offer.

We had an amazing time at Hotel Breakwater. It was the most epic 30th birthday I could have ever imagined.

Room Tip: Get the VIP Penthouse Suite overlooking the pool. You will NOT be sorry!

This hotel is right in the mix of things, there is a outside nightclub next door, unfortunately our room was on that side. If you are young, I am sure you would enjoy it. we were told to call down at least 15-20 minutes to get our car from the valet, they took 30 minutes, one time the front desk forgot to call, so that was another 20 minute wait. The rooms were okay, nothing special.

Room Tip: Don't get on the side by the Cleavander hotel. Rooms on the south side are quieter.

Food in restaurant was good but service was appalling. Once pulled into restaurant by staff, had to wait 20 minutes for drinks Order to be taken. Should have walked at this point.. Food was good but took 30minutes to produce the bill when requested at the end Then the offered discount was missing, our most expensive meal in Miami beach, soured by flagrant dishonesty and poor service
