I booked this restaurant based on a recommendation from a friend - what a huge dissapointment. The poor experience began with the self important girls on the reception desk on arrival as if they were doing us some big favour allowing us to have dinner there. We were then told that our 9.15 table wasn't ready and could we go to the bar for a drink while we waited. The bar lacked any kind of ambience. Half empty with TV screens around the room, which is always a bad thing, and the overall feeling of not wanting to be there. 3 drinks served by a lacklustre waitress and $60 later, we were advised by self important receptionist that our table was ready - 45 minutes late! We walked into the dinning room as requested - no one greeted us, no one showed us to our table we just stood waiting for someone to let us know where to sit. i then went back to thereception desk to ask what was going on to be told that our table was still being prepared. we are now almost 1 hour late. Approached by easily forgettable "manager" type person who told us to go back to the bar. No apology no nothing just boring rhetoric from someone who clearly didn't care whether we were there or not. So we left and had the most fantastic dinner in a fabulous restaurant on Lincoln Road. Great service, delicious food. Their loss was clearly our gain. My advice to STK is either change your staff or put them through some intensive training of how to run a restaurant and how to deal with the general public because it is very clear they have no clue on either. No idea what the food is like but I imagine it must be good because I'm not sure why anyone would go there otherwise.
