Manolo's is my favorite breakfast/lunch spot in South Beach so far. The portions are huge and the prices are great. Service is friendly, although sometimes a little slow.
A cafe con leche and a huge del pueblo sandwich on a croissant big enough to share will set you back less than $10. They have homemade pastries (delicious alfajores) and breads and serve lunch and dinner fare.
This food is reminiscent of small cafes I've found in Buenos Aires where locals hang out and catch up with each other while enjoying delicious and cheap homemade food. Add some hungover tourists to the mix, and you have Manolo's.
Don't expect an American style diner feel, this place looks more like a cafeteria, but you won't really care when you get the food and the check.
