“Location, Style and Chic rolled into one”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 6, 2013

The Dream South Beach hotel was one of the most fitting I have stayed in over recent years. A perfect balance of cool sophistication and a couples retreat. The rooftop pool was to die for and the front desk staff (especially Hanack) simply couldn't do enough for us. The room rate was excellent and being tucked at the back of the Versace Mansion made the location perfect.

In order to provide a balanced review it wasn't all perfect, the wifi is slow at least with access blocked to youtube, the appstore and various other sites, the hotel refunded the $8.99 daily charge but it was inconvenient to say the least, furthermore what hotels still actually charge for this? Especially one so close to the high end?

Their was one member of the pool bar staff who clearly had better things to be doing than her job, her only defining characteristic was the typical eastern european attitude us folks from the UK have become more tolerable of due to experience rather than anything else nevertheless I only had to endure her once as the table staff more than made up for her lack of service mindedness.

The rooms are 'small' but perfectly formed with mood lighting and amenities beyond expectations.

Highly recommend this hotel for its location, its vibe and look, an overall amazing experience.

Like most places to stay in miami, it is very elegant but tiny. Location is great, your right on Collins avenue. For Miami, being in South beach, and being that close to Ocean drive is key to having fun.

Room Tip: Try and get a bigger room.

We were staying at the Dream for only two days in our anniversary trip and I can say it was great hotel.
The location is spectacular, as it is one block from the beach and Ocean Dr., right behind the Versace mansion, in the middle of south beach party.
Near to the hotel there are several clothing stores and bars. Also near you will find Lincoln Rd and Espanola Way.
The service was polite and helpful, the room decor is unique, we found it very nice. We love it. The lighting system in the room was not so complicated to use as reported in other reviews, it was easy to play.
We think this hotel is an great choice for couples, we find that because the room we chose.
The hotel has a rooftop pool with bar, the service there is also very nice, they have towels, suntan lotions and sunscreens complimentary for guests to use. The hotel also provides towels and chairs on the beach as a courtesy, ask at reception. The internet is very good and free in the whole hotel. Attached to the hotel is the restaurant Serafina, an Italian restaurant.
We find a unique experience to stay at the Dream, and we'll definitely go back because it is well worth it!
For those who rent a car at the airport, the hotel has parking Vallet, but we do not use, because two blocks up on Collins has a Public garage (Collins corner with 13th st) that charged $1,00 per hour or $20.00 per day.
I would like to express a special thanks, for all that was provided for us, to Mr. Walbridge, who was very helpful and attentive to our stay was perfect.
Our stay at Dream was a Dream.

I have to admit that when we pulled up to this hotel, it looked like an average hotel near the water. But once we got to our room, I was really impressed! The location is EXCELLENT. One block away from the beach, Ocean Drive, and Washington Ave. No need for a car, but renting bikes to cruise the strip is fun (I recommend Bike and Roll on the corner of Collins and 10th). The rooms are small (European-esq) but very tastefully decorated and trendy. Nice sized rain shower is separated from the toilet and sink. The mini bar prices are pretty decent and cheaper than the drinks on South Beach! Lol! A few negatives...First, the lighting in the room is HORRIBLE. This will only matter to women who need good lighting in order to get dressed to go out! I was there from 5 days and was terrified each night that my makeup was gonna look like crap when I went outside. Mood lighting is great when needed but there should be better lighting as well. Second, the walls are PAPER thin. On any given night, we could walk down our hallway and "hear" couples. On our last morning, I was jolted awake because it sounded like the woman moaning next door was in bed with us!! Other than that, everything was really good. Very friendly staff as well.

My husband and i enjoyed a fabulous short sty in this hotel. The most pleasing aspect of our stay was definitely the service - it was top notch. Yes this hotel is slightly on the pricey side, but you definitely get the feeling that you get what you pay for. The roof top terrace was also great - they even lay out your towels for you! If you like design and attention to detail, this is definitely the place for you - the chandeliers and lighting in this hotel add an extra touch of elegance. Location is absolutely perfect - just 1 minute (if that) from Ocean Drive and all its bars and restaurants. Would certainly stay again if visiting Miami.

Ive stayed here twice already and I love it! Perfect location at 11th street and collins, right around the corner from ocean drive and Versace's Mansion!. Amazing service! pool is on the roof, it is small but nothing to complain about. Serafina (restaurant) is amazing as well as the pool side menu! Rooms are super clean and Im a clean freak so there is nothing to worry about. The room is not really for friends or family as the doors in the washroom are clear glass, there are doors dividing the bed and washroom but you can still see through the doors. I asked the front desk for two bed sheets to cover the doors and it worked. Rooms are a little small but very comfortable. No reason to not book here though! Highly recommend it for anyone who likes to travel clean and luxurious! Definitely will stay here many more times.

I was in the building with the bar on the roof and restaurant on the ground floor opposite the building were you check in - not sure if there is a difference in the rooms between buildings. Hotel is very well presented from the outside.

The rooms are funky, but seriously small - even by European standards. I think I was in a room immediately to the left when coming out of the elevator. I think they are definitely aimed at people coming down the Miami Beach for the weekend to party as it a perfect room to get ready, have a pre drink from the very well stocked mini bar and head out. I was staying there after already being the US and Caribbean for 5 weeks and we were carrying an outrageous amount of luggage (lots of rum was purchased) which just did not fit in the room, we had to constantly step over stuff. Had we been able to get all our bags in the closet (instead of 1 of 4) the size would not have bothered me. I was sick (burnt out really) so I spent more time in my room than I normally would so that did not help. In saying that, I knew exactly how big the room was going to be so I can not complain too much and I still enjoyed the room.

Any of the staff I dealt with were very good and helpful. I used the pool and the hotels dedicated beach facilities. All very good. Pool is quite small and shallow, its more to cool off after sun bathing, if you want to swim just head across the road to one of the worlds best beaches. The roof top bar was a nice place to have a pre drink before heading out.

Overall a very good hotel in a great location, I felt reasonably priced for South Beach also. If you are staying for an extended amount of time or have a load of luggage upgrade to a larger room or maybe find another hotel.
