If there is one thing you MUST do in South Beach, it is the Art Deco walking tour with Christine Michaels! She is passionate, extremely knowledgeable and takes the time to gear the tour to your interests. It was the absolute highlight of our trip to Miami and I highly recommend it to all of my friends. You will look at all Art Deco buildings in a different light after your tour with Christine.Even if you are in Miami for 24 hrs, do NOT miss this tour. Book from home before you go and you will not regret it. You get access to hotels that are not open to the public and Christine takes your photo in picturesque settings. It is rated the #1 tour for a reason! Don't book cheesy bus tours, take the walking tour and experience South Beach architecture as it was meant to be!!!!

Where do I start. I love Art Deco so the positive reviews of this tour it was a no-brainer. The tour itself is slated to last two hours but it went on for nearly 3. We met the two tour guides, Christine and John. The group was 9 so we got split into two with our group of 4 going off with John.

He was a great guide, good knowledge of the subject and an interesting person to boot. We got a unique insight itno some of the buildings and the tour gets access to soem places in hotels that as a normal tourist you would not normally get.

If you do one tourist thing on Miami Beach it should be this tour.

We really enjoyed our time. The tour was fun, the sights were great and the guide was excellent. The behind the scenes access to the historic hotels was great.

If you are looking for a fun, non-boring, art deco tour, this one is perfect! John was hilarious, knowledgable and personable! The drinks were delicious and the history was interesting and well presented. They could easily charge double what they do and it would still be 100% worth it!! They have a great relationship with the bars they use and we even had a few extra drinks thrown in from some of the bartenders! Seeing the town lit up from the top of the Clevelander was the perfect ending to a killer tour!

This was top of my "things to do in Miami" list when we booked our transatlantic cruise.
It certainly didn't disappoint as John Stevens, our guide made us instantly welcome with his easy charm. His enthusiasm for the subject was infectious and the next two hours passed all too quickly but left me looking at my surroundings during the remainder of our visit with a new eye, recognising the verticals, portholes, eyebrows, mayan influences, groups of three etc................!
Even my husband, not normally keen on walking, far less on Art Deco, thoroughly enjoyed the experience and I loved snooping around in the more expensive hotels!!
