Description: Fogo de Chão is a leading Brazilian steakhouse, or churrascaria, which has specialized in fire-roasting high-quality meats since 1979 utilizing the centuries-old Southern Brazilian cooking technique of churrasco. Fogo offers guests a wide variety of simply seasoned meats, that are carefully fire-roasted to expose their natural flavors, including the house specialty picanha sirloin, filet mignon, ribeye, and lamb chops to name a few. Additionally, Fogo offers a gourmet Market Table & Feijoada Bar, which includes seasonal salads, soup, fresh vegetables, feijoada (traditional black bean stew with rice, fresh orange and yuca flour), and much more.

Nice service and all the abundance of a real rodizio.. High quality if not fancy salad bar, and the meat festival for carnivores. Expensive but located in the most expensive area of south beach.

In case you have never been to a Brazilian steakhouse, it is an experience that you will not soon forget. You start your meal with a beautiful fresh salad bar that could easily be the main course. Different Fresh salads, olives, cheeses, smoked salmon, cold cuts, fresh bread. When you are finished your salad you get to flip over your dining card from red to green. This lets the Gauchos (Brazilian Cowboys) know that you are ready to start eating meat. These Gauchos bring succulent cuts of meat right to your table on large skewers. The perfectly seasoned meat is traditionally cooked over an open flame. There are 16 different cuts of meat, lamb, chicken, pork and chorizo. The garlic fillet was my favourite. The servers bring you Brazilian traditional side dishes like hot cheese bread, garlic mashed, fried polenta sticks and caramelized bananas. My husband calls the Gauchos his" friends " because anyone coming over with a skewer of meat is his friend. Sometimes, when he is in a bad mood; he will tell me that he misses his friends, and that is code for coming to FOGO de chao.
This meal is a little on the pricey side. $49 per person plus 18% automatic gratuity. There is a 12 dollar valet parking fee as well. (Parking in south beach is a nightmare ) In my opinion it is well worth it. This is a very special night out with high quality food.

I was borne in Brazil and I've been to many Brazilian steakhouses and can state with confidence that Fogo is the best. They have the best salad bar, best meat quality/selection, great service, great wine list and great drinks. The wine selection is really on par with a nice steakhouse with a strong focus on South America as it should be.

I have been to these Brazillian 'meat fests' before and knew what was about to happen. However, It's the peripherals that make this restaurant so special. I have not seen such an extensive salad bar and the side dishes were a constant stream to the table. As you'd expect the wine list was eclectic and have a fine selection worldwide. The meat was excellent, well cooked and absolutely delicious.

It's a pity that we had to leave, we should have got there earlier and really taken advantage of all the delicious foods. If I find myself in Miami again, I for one will be back, with an elasticated waistline.
