As a european with italian roots it was hard to find good food. Fast food and restaurants that pretend to be italian by just placing an italian guy in the restaurants who says the pasta is "al dente" when its clearly not. So i found cantina 26 near my hotel i asked the owners about their roots and food they were the real deal. They food us fresh and prepared tastefully. If your looking for fresh italian cooking for a reasonable price look no futhet. Bon a petito

after a decent walk from out hotel, we came across this restaurant. They proudly display the trip advisor rating on the counter which convinced me to eat here. REALLY that good folks? Very average food, average service and average place.

We went to this restaurant on the back of reviews on TripAdviser, and we're somewhat dubious as the venue was not much to look at from the outside. Once inside, the owners and staff made us extremely welcome and were polite, and friendly without being overbearing. The food choice was very varied and offered an array of home made Italian cuisine. The pasta was stunningly al dente and the home made sauces tickled the taste buds perfectly. Tipped off with a mouth watering devilishly high calory dessert to seal the perfect dining experience. Shame we hadn't discovered this jewel in the South Beach crown earlier, or we would not have wasted our time and money going to the vastly over rated Espanola Way, when the is clearly a more pleasant, authentic and reasonably priced alternative at this venue.

We really didn’t expect to find a place like this in Miami: after two weeks of American food, we really longed for a bit of taste of Italy, and we definitely found it at Cantina 27, a nice neighbourhood restaurant with tasty authentic Italian dishes. Being a large group of friends, including kids, we tried a variety of dishes, and all of them were extraordinary. I tried one of the most popular dishes at Cantina 27, the gnocchi al taleggio, (the creamy cheese melting in my mouth was a blissful experience), whereas my husband went for the traditional ravioli di carne, which were truly homemade and very similar indeed to the delicious ones his granny used to prepare. The owners, Emanuele and Davide, pride themselves on their homemade pasta, which is indeed yummy, but my daughter especially liked the grilled tuna, which was simply perfect. Also the risotto agli asparagi, made with Prosecco wine, was a smash hit in our group.
The staff is both friendly and efficient, the atmosphere relaxing and pleasant, the prices are reasonable: if you are looking for a cozy place to experience a bit of Italy in the USA, I definitely recommend Cantina 27.
