“Working on an upgrading”
Reviewed December 16, 2012

We arrived very late from LAX and asked the taxidriver to drop us here.
Themanagement is really upgrading and we ended up in a very comfortable and nice room. Not big but very nice though.
We love the area, everything is in walking distance, and even bus 150 the airport flyer is 6 minutes walk.
Quite nice experience and we will be back very soon.

Room Tip: 153, recently updated nice view on Espanola.

This is a very nice budget accommodation. Our room, though small, was recently renovated. Hotel is right on Espanola Way, with great shops and restaurants. Just a few blocks from the beach and Lincoln Road. There is no pool or elevator in case these things are important to you.

this place is Horrible. First you have to walk a block and a half from the front desk, to a second building over an Italian restraunt that does the WORST karaoke till well after midnight. the rooms are very small. The ac units spit water over the beds, if you want a relaxing stay AVOID this place at all costs

Front Desk talk in many languages and hep in many ways, rooms are small for many bags, there is no room services or elevators, the location are the best of this Hotel, Lincoln Road, Colins Av. and the best of Washington Av. are just few steps by foot.

Room Tip: For silense its better room in the back of Hotel, for a good view its better select one in Espanola...

The Clay hotel has a perfect location situated a few minutes walk from the beach, Espanola way and Lincoln road mall. There is plenty to see and do in the area. The restaurants that are situated in Espanola way are pricy and can be noisy. Room was small and could do with a paintjob or two and the bathroom was outdated, but unless you are planning to spend more time indoors then outdoors it's not a huge deal. The only problem we encountered was that our roomkeys/cards didn't work and we had to go back to the reception (located in another building), to have them make new ones. Turned out that the cards were of the cheap kind that de-magnetize when kept in wallets or purses with credit cards. Apart from this minor hickup, I enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to friends. P.s. A short walk from the hotel you can catch the airport bus to Miami. It's much cheaper then the $32 you pay one way to/from MIA. Safe travels!

Fun area (near Espanola Way)
Out of date
cramped
noisy
unsafe
NO wifi (but you can pay to use the 2 computers in the lobby)
lockers are too small
insufficient space for luggage
front desk staff is nice, multi-lingual

Room Tip: If staying in the hostel section, ask for a room on the ground floor, away from Espanola Way but not...

South Beach is Fun and the Clay is "Right in the Middle of Everything!"

Yes the rooms are small but if your having fun who's hang'in in the Room?
The AC was Freezing cold at night so sleep was great (our room 107) was very quiet. We did get a show from the room across the small street (LOL).

Axel checked us in and he was super cool! Melisa was really nice helping us figure out a late check out and keep all are luggage safe and sound as we walked the beach while waiting for late departure from MIA,,,she was really nice and Helpful, spoke great english and spanish with a beautiful smile everytime we saw her!!!!

The Car park guy from Colombia was a great extra, everytime you came back or just wanted to do a drive around he was fast and Happy...

Big Tip,,,Do Not Use Alamo Car Rental, the line was 2 hours long, and when we flew out it was the same with only 4 people working there counter,,,

Room Tip: Room 107 very quite~~~
