“Multiple Miamias”

Miami Beach Convention Center
Reviewed October 22, 2013

After the Javits Center, in N.Y, this venue is truly amazing. From Apples to Zebras, you can see any merchandise convention that you can possibly imagine. Admission always open to the public, at reasonable admission prices

The center serves its purpose, but it should go through a revamp. The catering services are not very extensive when it comes to comparing it with European standards.

A/C system started exactly and shut down exactly on time! That means our convention was warm at start up and immediately uncomfortable on shut down while dismantling our booths. Sweating during setup and tear down is to be expected.

Valet parking lots were full at start times, forcing a 1/4 mile walk depending on the hall you are occupying. Not a lot of fun when carrying items during 90 degree days with high humidity, wearing a suit!

many doors are available to access the hall from pretty convenient locations but we were forced to exit and enter from ONE door. Pretty inconvenient.

No real seating outside the convention hall, so it's pretty uncomfortable for anyone looking to take/make a call outside the hall.

No real location to buy coffee or snacks other than some inconveniently located booths.

Stephanie helped me a lot about the information and things I should do and see around the town. She seems really love her job! Anyway, I was not good at the map, I lost a bit and the realized the hall A , B and C do not in the same street. Quite a walk though.

This long time facility still hasn't dealt with parking. I attended a small tradeshow and access to parking was horrible. The mail lot had filled by the time I got there and we were directed to valet on the Washington Street side. The line was impossibly long. Thanks to the kindness of a strange who was leaving the parking garage on 17th street we were able to secure his spot or we many still be circling waiting for someone else to leave.
If you are an exhibitor or need to make an appointment, it may be better to take a taxi to the convention center and hope you can catch one when your business is over.
