This is party central; do not stay here if you're going to SoBe for a relaxing stay! I loved the Clevelander because of its location and its reputation for being a place you can stumble to your bedroom without having to fuss over taxis, and it truly was everything I expected, after all, we were there celebrating my sister’s 21st so it was perfect. The loud dance music starts pretty early in the morning and it blares continuously until about 4am if not later. The atmosphere is sexy-bar esque with dancers in their skimpy outfits and the waters with killer abs and toned bottoms. The C-LEVEL roof-top bar (get it “C-level”..ander) yeah…took me a while to get it to…. was actually really nice and it was more loungey; it got pretty crazy on Saturday, but people do spread out giving it an airy feel. The view was killer. The downstairs hub is the place where you literally have a party at any time, you can grab burgers and sliders and really BIG decently priced super drinks. The one thing that stood out the most aside form the blatant party atmosphere is the extremely courteous staff, Wally at the front desk was AMAZING, their computer system was down for a couple hours so we didn’t get our room key, but he escorted us to our room without hesitation, so I give them kudos for handling a problem that was beyond their control in such an efficient manner. I do have a couple BIG no-no’s: #1 the pool is inexistent! Half of it is covered by a dance floor and the other half is literally the size of a baby pool but there is no room whatsoever to actually go in. There is a sun deck on the 4th floor but no pool, if there had been one it would have been amazing. The sister property adjacent to the hotel (the Essex House) has a pool that Clevelanders can use, if you are lucky like we were you got the whole thing to yourself… but my backyard pool is bigger than this tub! And ther are only 8 lounge chairs, so it's cozy if there is no one around…but if that thing fills up with more than 10 people it’s a bit too close for comfort…and frankly the last day we were there the water looked like a sess pool! The rooms? We had a standard 2 bed room with a lovely H-vac view, but on the flip side we didn’t hear any of the noise...then again we got back to the room around 4:30...so I’m not sure if that was the reason. ..comfy beds, no balcony, and snug......shower was decent just small as heck. The cleanliness of the rooms was amazing, the staff actually scours the room and sweeps it clean and they even fold your clothes which is such a great touch. Another pet peeve? They are nice to give you towels for the beach (which is literally across the street) but the umbrellas are $15 and the chairs $10 each....so that kind of sucks, you'd think you'd get a discount for staying at an ocean front hotel. So overall this place gets an A in my book, but if you have a family or you are just about over that age of staying up till 4am stay somewhere else!
