Husband and I booked on-line a 3 hour Segway tour of the art deco district in Miami Beach, since we (along with our teen-age son) had done a Segway tour in Boston several years ago and loved it. Brian our guide was terrific. He patiently trained and safely guided our group of 8 people and 3 bicycle riders, took our photos, and made the tour fun and informative. He checked in with each group of riders at a stop point, making sure all were happy with what we were experiencing. The young man (his friend) at the shop desk was also friendly and helpful. Segway is a great way to cover a lot of tourist ground in a new city, and helps you get an idea of where you'd like to go back and revisit when you are on foot. This is by far the best way to tour a city with teens who get bored easily and prefer action! P.S. Don't be afraid of giving the Segway a try even if you are only of average activity level. If you are stable enough to walk comfortably, you will most likely be riding like a pro within 5 minutes!

The segway tour was a lot of fun. Miami has so many bike and pedestrian paths, we hardly ever rode in the street. It was nice to cover the entire south beach area, from the southern tip to up north near 22nd street. Very friendly and helpful guide. Highly recommended.

We were tempted to hire the bikes along the beach where you put in your credit card. They were pricey though so thank goodness we stumbled upon Bike & Roll.
We hired the bikes for a full day and it cost the same as if we hired the other bikes for 2 hours!
The staff were friendly and helpful and gave tips on where to go.
We had a great time and would highly recommend this to everyone (as long as you are happy to put in the leg work!)

We did the Art Deco Segway Tour in South Beach, and LOVED it! Being first-timers on Segways, we (me, my husband & our 12 year-old son) had some initial training with our lovely guide, Andrea. She was very thorough in making sure we were comfortable and (fairly) confident before we set off on the tour. Although it is called the Art Deco Tour, you do actually see so much more as well! Andrea took us along Ocean Drive and gave us some history of the Art Deco movement, pointing out the most famous buildings and offering to take group photos for us. Then we zipped along the path by the beach, by the Collins Canal, around the Botanical Gardens, and a few other places besides! On the way back, we arrived at a big, empty car park and Andrea gave us the option of some time there to go a little crazy on the Segways - amazing fun!

We all found it surprisingly quick and easy to learn to ride the Segways, and, in hot weather, it's a great way of seeing a lot of South Beach without the trek. If you're unsure of whether to try it, just go for it. Couldn't recommend it highly enough!
