Great location, terrific building. Spotlessly clean and great staff who were very helpful. I would stay there again and tell my friends to do the same. It was good value for that part of the Miami and we much preferred this to a tower block

I recently stayed at La Flora for a 3 night weekend stay with my husband and another couple. This is a lovely value for money hotel in a very central location behind Ocean Drive. The staff on reception were extremely polite, friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The rooms were very large, with a massive comfortable bed, sofa, chairs, table and flat screen tv. The bathroom was large and very clean. There was lots of storage space, a small kitchenette with coffee making facilities, a fridge with complementary water and a hairdryer, iron and small ironing board. The rooms are cleaned every day and the cleaning staff were polite and helpful. Every day between 5 & 6 there is a happy hour with complimentary drinks. There is a lovely girl called Kat who serves the drinks and we spent a couple of hours every evening chatting with her. She was warm, polite, helpful, friendly and very funny, a credit to the establishment. We also met the English manager of La Flora while we were there and she was also lovely, friendly and very helpful. This hotel does not have a pool or much outside seating space but it’s very close to Miami Beach. It is also close to many restaurants, bars and attractions. If ever return to Miami I will definitely stay here again.

We booked the La Flora last minute and thought what the heck, it's one block off of the ocean and saves a boatload so why not? It's just one night. Wow, what a bad decision that was.

The hotel is obviously a historic building, so old was to be expected but not dirty and dingy. The lobby appeared to have some fairly new furnishings. Once we started up the stairway to our room on the 2nd floor we quickly realized we had made a mistake - but again, one night, we can do this!

Our room was a good size - actually quite large for an older hotel. The room furnishings were very cheap. The laminate floor was buckling in places. The sofa at the end of the bed was so dirty I didn't even want to put our suitcase on it. The bathroom looked like it hadn't been remodeled in 50 years or more and the bathtub/shower was.....let's just say if you don't have long legs it will be difficult for you to get in and out of. Odd! I was so grossed out I could hardly sleep - and the outside noise didn't help.

After we checked in around 3pm we ventured out to check out the Art Deco District and the area in general. When we went down the stairs I noticed some sand that someone had tracked in on the stairway. We kept our eye on it through the length of our stay and it was still there the following morning when we checked out at 10am so there wasn't much attention to detail on the cleanliness scale.

The front staff was as friendly. Not great, but not poor either. I'd say average. Location was ok. Just a block off of the beach.

They do offer complimentary continental breakfast, which we did not partake in. They also offer complimentary beach towels, which was a nice feature, but make sure you let the staff know when you return them in the basket so you don't get charged for not returning them.

Overall, we do not recommend this property. Spend a little more and stay on Ocean Drive - not only for the location but for a better experience of Miami Beach.

Dear Guests,
Please accept my sincere apologies for your disappointing stay.
La Flora is an historic Art Deco Hotel built in 1927 with original terrazzo floor and a favorite for travelers all over the world for its location, excellent customer service, cleanliness and a family home away from home feel. Unfortunately on this occasion we did not step up to the plate and l have spoken with all staff concerned to ensure all guests have a solid stay and leave happy. We always say to incoming guests that we operate 24/7 and if there is anything we can assist with be it a change of room - dinner reservation etc - please let us know and sadly you did not contact us during your stay to give us the chance to make things right. I have since reached out by phone and hope to speak with you directly.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience.

Very nice and clean hotel. Room was larger than i expected. The staff was awesome, friendly and helpful. Location is also good, only 5 minutes walk to the beach.
Breakfast was only thing what they could improve, in my opinion

A small and idyllic hotel without Highlights. The ATM in the hotel lobby was a great addition. The hotel was a short walk from the beach. The hotel staff is friendly and helpful to help if there were any questions.
