“Great Stay in South Beach!”
Reviewed November 6, 2013

Myself and my husband and 2 daughters stayed for 2 nights in August. It was our first trip to Miami, we were travelling down to the Florida Keys from Orlando and decided to stay here for 2 nights to break up the journey. Really enjoyed our stay, when we arrived it was all a bit stressful as the entrance to the hotel doesn't have much space for cars to drop off, and our car was full to the brim with luggage as we were in the states for a month, but the staff helped us unload but we took much more luggage into the hotel than we needed. They parked our car off site which there is a charge for but we weren't planning on using it during our stay. Our room consisted of 2 double beds, it was very small but very tasteful, 2 nights was fine but we couldn't have stayed in this room for any longer as it was tiny when we were all trying to get ready. It was our wedding anniversary whilst we were there and they sent a lovely bottle of Prosecco to our room with a lovely hand written card which I have kept as I love the quote that was written in the card. The pool area was really well maintained and the staff couldn't have done any more for us. The wine hour every day seemed to be enjoyed by all the guests. The soft drinks were expensive from the bar by the pool, but we just used the free iced water which was a lovely touch. We did walk down to the beach as as guests of the hotel we could have had beds but we decided to base ourselves by the pool. We walked to Ocean Drive from the hotel which was an easy distance and we loved the whole vibe. Would definitely stay here again hopefully in the not too distant future.

My sisters and I have been staying at the Surfcomber since they opened as a Kimpton Hotel. We have enjoyed observing the evolution of the facility , services and staff. This last visit was no exception. The building is lovely, upscale amenities, clean rooms and public spaces with generous coffee in the am and wine in the afternoon. we have stayed in 3 different style rooms and all were very nice and clean with upscale linens.
The staff is genuine in helping you have a wonderful stay, helpful and friendly. They can not do enough for their guests.
Our last stay a year ago, suffered a few glitches but those concerns have definitely been taken care of and our stay was perfect. This is a gem and from the looks of it , no longer hidden.
We were upgraded to room 237 and it was truly a lovely location, thank you. Looking forward to a revisit in January 2014.

Myself and my family spent a long week end at the Surfcomber.
We have been coming and returning many times before to this hotel for his location of course (you can't get any closer to the beach), but mainly because of the people that run and work here.If you want to feel as a special guest, that is the place to be.From Michelle at the front desk, to Dorgis, Said, Carl,Gullam, Bryan, Rodrigo, they will try everything to make your stay a special stay.
We can't wait until our next trip to that special place in SB.

This was the first time that I stayed at the Surfcomber and I will definitely be back. It is conveniently located (on the beach, near Lincoln Rd Mall area, near great restaurants, etc), has a wonderful and attentive staff, and the food at their restaurants was creative and very tasty. Every year I go to Miami Beach area for a food show at the Miami Beach Convention Center and the small boutique hotels that I normally stay at were booked because the Convention Center booked all the rooms for the event and in turn, they jacked up the room rates. I found the Surfcomber and the reviews as well as the room rates were very good. The overall style and decor of the hotel is an updated art deco with a twist. The rooms and bathrooms are small, but have updated furnishings and are clean. The hotel staff really goes out of their way to make your stay fantastic. Each staff member that I came in contact with made a point to ask for my name and then they actually remembered it when they saw me throughout my stay. Special shout out to Dorgis and Carla for making my stay fantastic!

Room Tip: Ask for rooms away from the elevator and stairwells. Because the hotel structure is old, there is n...

This is now our second time we have stayed here at the Surfcomber, as we were left so impressed after the first time! We have stayed for 2 weeks and it is great value for money! Literally all the staff, and I mean all, are extremely helpful, accommodating and so very kind! We have had so much fun here! We were greeted warmly with a glass of champagne by the front desk staff on arrival and would like to thank David T, Clayton B and Amanda for all their help. The rooms are great, cleaned every day if you so wish. The pool is fantastic, with a sanded area where you can relax. There is also a ping pong table which is great fun!! The pool staff are wonderful, we've had so much fun and i would like to thank Tracey, Chris Bones, Jonathan H, Marco D, Jenna V, chris Smith, Eric R and Diana! marco and jonathan to teach your kids to shoot a basket ball, kids will have a great time here! And the hotel is a minute walk to the beach! There is also a bar by the pool with the friendliest staff, Carr, Lesley and Bryan and they have great food and drinks. I recommend the piña coladas!! There are two restaurants with delicious food, for breakfast lunch and dinner! Richard at the front restaurant is great and so very helpful! Every morning there is complementary tea and coffee which is great, and flavoured water with real fruit pieces, all day long! The hotel is in a great location minutes walk to Lincoln road and ocean drive for great food, shopping and night life! And if youre a pet owner, pets are welcome :) I really can't say enough, it is the best hotel in Miami, I have stayed at others and they just don't come close to the Surfcomber!!! I love this place and will be coming back here next year!

We got married in Wynwood on October 12th and chose the Surfcomber as the hotel we would stay at, and our guests/family. We also had a post-wedding brunch on the Surfcomber beach, the sand by the pool. Everything exceeded our expectations!

The property was perfect for a destination wedding and the hotel staff couldn't have been more accommodating. We stayed 4 nights in a room with an ocean view, which was just lovely to wake up to each morning. As Kimpton in touch members, we enjoyed the champagne at check-in and raid the bar. Even when things weren't exactly on schedule, our room wasn't ready for check-in when we arrived, one morning breakfast took longer than it should have, the hotel went above and beyond to accommodate us.

The hotel was exactly what we wanted for our wedding weekend, a place where everyone could hang out at a beautiful pool/beach and relax in a really fun atmosphere. Unlike other neighboring hotels, the Surfcomber is more laid back and not stuffy at all.

We have to give a shout out to Dorgis and Tony, who made sure we had everything we needed, and helped make our stay special. Also to Marco, Chris, and Alan at the pool/beach for the attentive service.

We can't wait to return to celebrate our one year anniversary! If you're looking for a hotel on south beach, this is the one.
