This hotel was nice and we had a pleasant stay but I don't think it was worth what we paid. As some of the other reviewers have said for the price I think beach chairs, umbrellas and parking should be included. The breakfast buffet was nice and not too expensive. Lunch was also good. Did not have dinner at the restaurant. A microwave in the room would have been nice. I would suggest buying drinks during Happy Hour when they are 1/2 price. Otherwise they are quite expensive.

Arrived at noon room was not ready, so I was advised the usual line "check in is 3pm" we went for lunch back at 3.30pm and the room was not ready. After I got a little annoyed at the clerk a room was found.
Concept for the hotel is a great one rooms all contempary white wall, white carpets, white furniture etc but in the short time since opening the entire place looked worn and run down. The furniture had fur balls the size of ping pong balls.the shower had a ceiling panel with duct tape the moisture was turning the ceiling black the door frame in the bathroom looked as if it was rusting away. There were little bugs in the sitting room and when I called the room supervisor I was told it was ants and why was I so surprised being it was summer and it was Florida. The overall condition of the rooms were just not what I expected seeing the reviews and the online details about this hotel. Being the hotel is less than 2 years old and the suite overlooking the ocean had so much potential but it was just not for me. I understand that family style hotels at the ocean have certain drawbacks like sand, ants, and gets run down so soon but what happened to room and hotel upkeep and maintainance.

First evening I asked the concierge where the closest Starbucks was and was told in the Fontainebleu Hotel 5 or 6 doors down. Turns out it was not it was in the Eden Roc hotel which was 4 doors down the road.....hhmmmmm. Next evening asked for the directions to a local restaurant and guess what the answer was, he had no clue. Good thing there is a web to check for this info. Turned out the concierge was also the bell hop. Day before he was dressed in a suit and tie the next was in the regular uniform. I see no harm doing double duty but get to know the city you point and steer hotel guests too. In general the hotel staff try but come up a little short compared to other type hotels.

I really feel the hotel has or had potential to be a good place but somewhere there seems to be a lack of focus to details. On my next visit to Miami I will be staying at a different hotel.

We found the location of this hotel (North beach) to be great. It is close to south beach, but a lot more quiet.

The room was amazing - it was a suite with 2 bathrooms. And the price was excellent.

We had a great view of the river on one side and the ocean on the other from our balcony. They had nice pools, and direct access to the beach.

The hotels in the area are very expensive, but we found this hotel at a lower price, and it was among the nicest anywhere in north or south beach. Very high end without the price. Highly recommend it.

We're staying here 3 nights of which we just woke up from our 2nd.
We arrived around 10pm on a Friday the check in was swift and friendly. Bell service and valet was fast and efficient.
We then had a late snack at the restaurant. Service there was fast and friendly.
The room is spacious light and clean. 1 large master bedroom with a full bathroom and a fold down twin bed in the livingroom also with a full bathroom. Both rooms have large flatscreen tv's. Both rooms have their separate balconies. So far so good! We asked for an extra blanket for the kids it never got here. The next evening we asked for a knife and fork. We called down for it three times. It's now the next morning we just now got a knife and fork... With room service breakfast that was 30mins late. I had to eat my pasta with the icecube tongs last night...
The pool is on the small side for this size hotel. We only took 2 sun beds with the 4 of us, many family's did, but there were still beds short. The beach is only a few steps away and a lovely beach it is. Unfortunately the poolside/ beach lunch is madly overpriced: $75 for quesedillas, calemari, a hotdog and a chicken sandwich and 2 colas.
this hotel is fine if you don't mind driving everywhere else but the beach. There are no stores around you can walk to. There is a walgreens about 2miles away. Southbeach with it's nightlife and stores is about 4miles away. After 4pm the drive there is horrible due to crazy traffic on Collins. But once there it is great! This is not a bad hotel. It's clean and right on the beach. I wouldn't tell people not to go here. But my next time I will stay closer to downtown south beach. (and bring my own knife and fork ;-) )

The reviews you're reading are unfortunately correct particularly those related to service. This is NOT a service oriented property in the most basic regard to standard hotels. The restaurant service is slow amd indifferent and limited to one spot. The pools are dirty crowded and lack the type of attention you would find at a 3 star.
The beach situation is equally poor with overnpriced fees for chairs and umbrellas.
The hotel draws a large european clientelle and it's too bad these folks are experiencing such poor service as other hotels such as the Loews and even sub par Ritz Carlton offer so much more.
The rooms are large and nice but other than that this place needs a better management staff and attention towards basic guest services. If you're booked here and have a chance to cancel explore your options.
