I had been to this hotel just for drinks and to hang by the pool in March and loved it - hence my boyfriend booked us a weekend here for my birthday and it did not let us down. We checked in early and even though our room wasn't ready, we were able to change, reserve some pool chairs and enjoy breakfast - by the time we finished, the room was ready.

Room - Gorgeous. Everything about it is very much my taste. Love the interior design, furniture and space. The shower was great, towels were so soft and the bed was very comfortable. We booked a garden veiw and ended up on the 15th floor with a veiw of the Ocean! Maybe luck of the draw but so nice to wake up to in the morning.

Pool - Waitresses and attendants are so helpful. No matter what we needed, they were there to get it done and with a smile. The Sunday pool party gets a little crowded toward the late afternoon since it is open to the public (which the do control with a guest list I believe).

Food - the Sunset Lounge menu at the pool is very good - a little pricey but it's what you would expect at any upscale hotel. For breakfast they have a buffet and a la carte option but I would suggest wandering over to Lincoln Rd and finding a place to eat to get out.

Location - I was very happy to be away from Collins Avenue and Ocean Avenue and the tourist hustle and bustle and makes for a more serene expereince I think. The Mondrian is close enough to walk to Lincoln Rd but you should take a cab to other side of the beach for anything else.

I will definitely be back to this hotel. Thank you to everyone who made our stay a memorable one.

As a couple in our 20s, we thought this would be a fun place to stay for our three day getaway. The design was definitely whimsical and the rooms were incredibly spacious. The only thing I didn't like about the design was the woman's face that's used throughout the hotel. It was the first thing we would see in the morning, and it has a slight creepy factor. The pool area was gorgeous, especially at sunset for drinks. The athletic facility was above average, and the restaurant was excellent.
As for the other downfalls, there were a few. The room was a little dusty, and because everything was so white, it easily showed any dirt or scuff marks. The tivo in the room was a nice amenity, but ours didn't work. We called engineering, but they never came. When we first arrived at the hotel, there were no washcloths in our room. We called down for some, but they ran out. Also, it was $40 to valet nightly which was a little expensive, but the valets were very fast with getting our car. We travel monthly to Miami and would probably not stay here again, because there are so many other hotels that are just as fun and don't have as many kinks to work out. We will probably go back to the restaurant though.

Famed designer Marcel Wander first saw this building 2 1/2 years ago, at that time it was painted gray from top to bottom. He remarked that "the building looked like a castle covered in sediment beneath the sea". Marcel envisioned Sea Sirens who watched over the castle & rescued it from the oceanfloor. Mondrian is now gleaming and bright. The Sea Sirens are beloved by most of our guests. Art is meant to generate conversation, opinions, questions and emotions. Allow me take you on an ethos tour of Mondrian upon your return. All the best, Reo.

From check in to check out, the service we experienced at Mondrian was outstanding. The hotel atmosphere was pleasant, friendly, bright and relaxing. I had no problems checking in early and very much appreciated an upgrade to a cool, clean and spacious bay front suite. The location is quiet and convenient to nearby restaurants and health food markets. We will definitely be back and highly recommended this hotel.

This is the place to stay if you're looking to be pampered in STYLE! The Mondrian was our home for just 1 night as we were celebrating a special birthday weekend. We loved the room - very whimsical and fun. The views of the bay from the pool were spectacular . We enjoyed delicious seafood quesadillas and salads from the pool menu. The location was even conducive to going out in South Beach and very relaxing to be removed from the crowded Collins Ave. Metered Parking wasn't hard to find at all. Wholefoods is in walking distance. Overall, the service was excellent. Look forward to more stays at the Mondrian.

Ambiance was amazing. Uber cool and super clean. Service was as good as it gets! At check in the were able to accomidiate us when we arrived early and even upgraded our room. Pool service was outstanding. Conceriege was soo helpful with tips for transportation and finding some really great Cuban food restaurants. Location was perfect. Short walk to the beach and shopping. Around the corner from Whole Foods and Starbucks. Plus it wasn't surronded by touristy places and shops, which is a big plus in my book. The room was so swanky! I will def. be looking for other Morgan's Hotels when I travel. The hotel host regular parties which really seem to be "the" place to be.

The Good: location; only eight blocks away from Ocean Ave. Decor; trendy, Miami-type, boutique interior...pool area overlooking Biscayne Bay looks like it is out of a music video or movie. Most of the staff there are pretty nice and professional as well.

The Bad: Valet pricing; $37 for 24 hours...though this goes with the territory in SoBE; Our PriceLine reservation didn't elicit a very warm reception from the guy at the front desk when checking in...but warmed up when he saw we are local (Broward Co.).

The Funny: this is a great place to people watch (as are many places in SoBe). Lots of wannabe folks with graphicwear and tatoos, suntans, designer sunglasses and sandals, bikini bottoms...all from Ohio, South Dakota, Iowa, Kentucky and Oklahoma....hilarious!

Hey, slow down, I went to school in the great state of Ohio! Appreciate all of your compliments about Mondrian. Parking in SoBe, NYC, Frisco & Vegas is not cheap because of the popularity of these places and the limited amount of space, but you already knew that. Great to have 'locals' stay with us. To be fair it is great to have people from all over America and from all around the world mix & mingle here at Mondrian. See you again soon.

Booked for tree nights, got a free upgrade to a beautifull room on the bayside after we they had given us a room wich was not cleaned yet. Nice pool, friendly staff, everything ok but
be aware of your budget unless you have a lot to spend. W e were not aware of the all the extra costs for parking and internet.. Would be nice if we could find that on the internet site.

Pleased to read that you enjoyed your upgraded suite. We try to upgrade our guests when possible. I agree that our pool and especially our team of caring staff are great assets to Mondrian. There is limited free parking on the street in front of Mondrian as well as metered parking around the corner if Valet seems too pricey. Looking forward to seeing you soon.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Located on newly-fashionable West Avenue, Mondrian is a quiet enclave just minutes from the bustling center of South Beach, offering spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean, Biscayne Bay and downtown Miami. The visionary style of designer Marcel Wanders is apparent from the moment you pull into the porte-cochere: guests walk through a grand entryway appointed with custom-designed furniture, lighting and accent pieces, evoking Wanders' design homage of "Sleeping Beauty's Castle." Upon entering the soaring lobby, the floor-to-ceiling windows offer stunning views of Biscayne Bay. Immediately the eye is drawn to the masterpiece of the room–an iconic, signature "floating staircase." Black and gold patterned furnishings and oversized brass bell shaped lights add a touch of whimsy and welcome guests to sit and socialize or enjoy the view. ... more   less
