We stayed in the Lenny Kravitz Penthouse Villa over Hyde Beach for a November weekend. The villa itself is very cool, and perfectly situated to watch the action at the pool directly below. It has a great layout with huge balconies, and great meet-up launch pad for any girl or guy weekend in South Beach. One warning -- the party goes on right below you until 2am, and it is loud.... you won't be sleeping before then. But then again, if you're booking a place designed by Lenny Kravitz, you are looking to party like a rockstar.
Staff was great, scene very young and cool. Again, recognizing we were there to go out, the noise issue until late night wasn't a problem for us. I would absolutely go back for a fun Miami trip.

Room Tip: I gave a low grade on sleep quality because of the noise from the club until 2am right below our villa. But that was totally to be expected, and we were out anyway. If you are expecting quiet, don't book the villas.

The staff (Leo) was hospitable from check in to check out. They made you feel constantly welcomed in a warm friendly environment that constantly showcased the beautiful hotel environment. Both pools and beach were amazing. The service was impeccable. The restaurants lived up to their reputation. As always the delicious cuisine was cumulated with excellent service. Hyde Beach was a great complimentary addition to the hotel. The scene was chic, safe, and respectful place to enjoy cocktails day and night. Hyde Beach went out of their way to respect the SLS hotel guests. All in all we had a terrific experience at SLS Miami. We would definitely make it our south beach destination hotel.

I have to say that we are still blown away by ourexperience at this hotel. We were a few friends and stayed for 3 nights. The SLS South Beach hotel is a small boutique hotel on the main street in South Beach. It prides itself on providing its customers a surreal hotel journey. Trust me: they do.

They have managed to do something surreal alright. Once you step foot in the SLS, you simply never want to leave the hotel grounds. The overall design, the two pools, the decadent restaurants, the trendy bars, the DJs and music just perfect for day sitting at the pool or night time dancing… it’s all perfect. Totally P-E-R-F-E-C-T! Quite amazing how they manage to fit so much luxury in such a little space. But most of all, the staff is what makes you want to stay there forever.

Clearly, they have been handpicked (kudos to the HR management of this place!) and they were all superstars in making the customer feel ultra special. They always seemed to have the right phrase, the right remark, the right look and smile. At the SLS, the guest is royalty. They clearly live to their motto of delivering a guest experience centered on service, style and fun. (Peter, Brian, and that lovely blond hostess at the resto-bar… so sorry I forgot her name…. needless to say that Mr. Suarez from hotel management would be proud of them.. .just to name a few).

Can't wait to visit the SLS again!

Room Tip: Rooms are small but luxurious. You'll be spending your time at the pool, eating decadent food in the property's rastaurants and dancing 'till the wee hours of the night!

Stayed 4 nights in a Villa .Booked through Amex FHR. No complaints with size of room ,bathroom or closet space, although everyone we chatted with complained about the rooms in the main building. Decor very modern ,cute ,but not opulent. Bathrooms well appointed with Ciel products.

Rooms were clean and well maintained ,however houskeeping needs a bit more training. First day we returned to unwashed glasses on the table. No biggie I did them. Next day glasses were removed and not replaced . Just a sign of lack of training ?

Staff: Checkin efficient, but young lady with english accent(no name tag visible, nor did she introduce herself) was rather cool. And no it was not a cultural thing having lived in the UK this was just an indifferent ,polite but not welcoming attitude. Quite a contrast to all other staff we encountered. Yasmin and Susie at reception were both very pleasant and personable. Bellman were all phenomenal.

Wait staff at BarCentro during breakfast and at other times were all very polite.
Pool(Jonny) and beach (Tito)personnel were also just great. So staff that didnt quite measure up to their colleagues unfortunately were pretty obvious.

Food: Breakfast included with Amex -good buffet spread .Beach and pool service really good.

Bazaar : Great ambiance, good food, waiter cannot remember his name ,but constantly tried to upsell us. Found him rather annoying . Buddy, I know how much and what I like to eat. Do not put through an order of something you think I should eat and then try and convince me to try it, not cool !

Katsuya: food very similar to Nobu. Great server. Great ambiance.

Did have one issue which if you are planning a trip and staying in a Villa you should be aware of and which imo should be CLEARLY noted on the website. There is CONSTRUCTION under the villas at the present time. I did read about it in a review here on TA so
I phoned prior to arrival to discuss this issue and was told construction is ongoing and would start at 9am. No problem as I expected to be awake by then. At checkin we were informed about the construction as well as noise from Hyde until about 2am. Again we were ok with that too.

However on morning one we were awoken by drilling etc at 7.32 am which despite calls to front desk didn't stop. Now when paying over $1000 per night I expect to at least get 7 hours of sleep or am I just being difficult? We asked to speak to a manager and Yasmin was apologetic and assured us it wouldn't happen again.

We were also assured we could check out if we chose with no penalty and we did go across to the Delano to ensure they had availability if the need arose. Well it was fine for the next morning but once again on the 3rd morning construction started before 9am. As we were already awake we didnt bother to complain, but if you are planning a trip over the next few weeks be prepared for the noise.

I understand the builders have a deadline to meet in order to "enhance our guests experience in the future" according to Yasmin. All well and good but what about our current experience was my opinion dont I count? So while our problem was acknowledged the issue was never completely resolved and despite Ayo constantly coming on TA to respond to reviews we never did hear from him when we had an issue and we were right onsite for him to make contact with us!

Overall though despite the noise issue we had a good weekend.

There is no hotel currently in SOBE that has the vibe ,ambiance and personality of the SLS. It truly is a fun place to be .Fantastic atmosphere ,good food ,great music, well heeled clientele and overall awesome staff.

Dear Sungirlxxxx thank you for taking the time to review SLS hotel South Beach your feedback is greatly appreciated. With that said I would love to meet you on your next trip to Miami, as it is always great to get feedback from a seasoned traveler such as yourself.
