We stayed one night here and I can't fault the location. 5 minutes from Ocean Drive and then another 5 minutes and you're on the beach. Loads of restaurants and bars within easy reach - but be prepared to pay Ocean Drive prices.

The hotel itself is lovely and has all the normal trappings you'd expect from a luxury hotel. The beach towels and beach bag are a nice touch.

Free coffee available in the room and a mini bar also available. Only slight criticisms are that the room itself is quite small and only has one chair.

Valet parking from outside the door for $35 and they'll store cases for you if you aren't leaving at check out time.

Nice place. Friendly staff.

Dear shatterhand55,

Sunny greetings from South Beach and thank you for sharing your review. As you and many others have shared, our location is hard to be topped and we are thrilled to find that our central address provided you the opportunity to reach all of your list of must-visit Miami Beach destinations. We are pleased that the thoughtful in-room amenities allowed you to relax in comfort and that our Marlin team quickly became friends. We regret that you were able to settle in for just one night and we hope that the next time you join us your visit can be extended for a little more time to relax in the sun. Until then.

Warm Regards,

From the minute you step through the door of this lovely hotel you know you will experience a touch of luxury. Our room (101) was large and spacious with gorgeous fluffy robes and slippers, quality bedding, a Nespresso coffee maker and divine smelling toiletries and was a very welcome sight after a long, long flight from the UK. A continental breakfast in the morning is complimentary and everything was fresh and super tasty. We were warned before hand about the noise levels in the South beach area but weren't disturbed too much, definitely not enough to cause an issue. Highly recommend 😃

Located in the absolute centre of Art Deco District, 200m away from the beach but amazingly quiete inside. Highly motivated reception staff, willing to assist in all affairs. The Deluxe Suite offers everything you want. Top bed, beautiful bathroom, cosy lounge area with dolby surround TV. Breakfast continentel type and could offer a bit more sausages and cheese. Waitress very attentive. First floor of the hotel host s a restaurant. Hotel name is not clearly visible for new arrivals.

Room tip: Had the deluxe room which was great. Avoid restaurants on Ocean Drive and Collins

The Marlin Hotel seems to be accruing some less than stellar reviews recently. I'm not sure what the negativity is about because my just concluded mid-week stay was amazing. Let me explain:

Check-in was a breeze. It took five minutes from entering the facility until we were entering the room. The hotel is IMMACULATE. Our suite was large and very well appointed. The king size bed and pillows were superior to the what some of the larger chain hotels boast about. The technology in the room was terrific with electronically closing drapes; dimming lights and two televisions ( ONE 55") with DIRECT TV and some premium channels. There was actually a BOSE sound system to enhance your listening pleasure (television and music). The closet area was HUGE with a large curtain that hid the suitcases from view (No ugly/ clumsy suitcase stands) and a hanging clothes rod that could easily accommodate a week's worth of dress attire.

The bathroom was very large and attractive with white stone walls highlighted by stainless steel edging where grout would typically be. The 'Rainfall' shower was a delight and there was also a hand-held shower that was available for convenience sake. The toiletries were first class and the towels were of high quality and especially soft. The provided robes and slippers were luxurious. The temperature control system in the room worked like a charm and seemed to be very accurate; a very important consideration in a tropical environment such as Miami Beach.

The quality of our sleep was amazing; the very best that we've experienced in a long time while away from home. We experienced VERY LITTLE NOICE; especially when you consider that Miami Beach is a major tourist destination. The included continental breakfast was better than most with FRESH FRUIT; FRESH BAKERY ITEMS; hot cereals; FRESH juices (NOT FROM CONCENTRATE -WITH PULP) comfortable seating; complimentary copies of US Today and bused tables. The valet was very prompt and we never had to wait the half hour that was suggested ( more like 10 to 12 minutes). The hotel staff was exceptionally accommodating, pleasant and professional.

The location of the hotel is simply perfect. It is a five minute STROLL from the lobby to the pristine sand on the beach. We did not find the absence of a pool to be a negative because of the proximity to one of the world's best beaches. The excessive noise and bustle of Ocean Drive was thankfully absent while remaining in close proximity to the best restaurants and all of the things that you might want to do. (We did not eat at the on-site restaurant but did overhear several guests commenting very favorably on it. )

In the course of our travels my wife and I have stayed at a number of exceptional properties. I can say that 'The Marlin' stands right there with the best of them. The small size (fifteen rooms) allows the facility to concentrate on the total guest experience rather than just trying to maintain an efficient operation. Quite honestly, we could not have been more pleased.

Dear Achimmah,

It is certainly very kind of you to share such a thorough and thoughtful review and we extend our sincere appreciation for your doing so. It was a delight to welcome you both and we are elated that your visit was so wonderfully enjoyed. We are sorry to learn that your time with us did not include a dinner for two in Osteria del Teatro, our lobby-level restaurant, but we hope this gives you the perfect excuse to visit again soon. Once more, It was a pleasure for us to welcome you and we hope that The Marlin will be a hotel you visit time and again for years to come.

Yours in Hospitality,

Just spent a couple of days in South Beach after a business trip further north. I remebered reading about the Marlin yesrs ago and was not dissapointed. A wonderful hotel, smaller and far more personable than expected, spacious and beautifully decorated rooms. The bar, terrace and restaurant were great - very authentic Italian food with nice American flourishes (and portion sizes!). Can't wait to return with my wife!
