Owner description: Our professional airboat guides will take you on a personalized, educational airboat tour covering approximately 9 miles of this unique environment. We first go into the vast open saw grass where you will see why the Everglades are called the "River of Grass"! You will travel by Airboat through a Hardwood Hammock (a small island of solid ground in the "river of grass"), into the Everglades National Park stopping at alligator holes and seeing the abundance of 'glades wildlife. See the Purple Gallanule voted the most colorful bird in Florida and the endangered Everglade Snail Kite as well as herons, grackles, turtles, raccoons and other Everglades residents! The Everglades are a truly unique and vibrant environment which you can only experience first hand! Unless you brought your hip waders, a private airboat tour is the best way to see it! (And much drier, too!) After this fascinating and educational airboat tour, relax and enjoy a taste of 'Down Home' cooking, Everglades-style. The Coopertown Restaurant offers such delicacies as frog legs, 'gator tail, catfish and more! All served in a friendly country manner that is distinctly "Floridian". "Belly up" to the bar and meet the folks of Coopertown! Learn some of the fascinating history of the area, and check out the guest book to see who else has passed through and enjoyed a ride on a Coopertown Airboat! Take a closer look at these fascinating creatures in our Alligator Exhibit! What a cute little guy! Popular enough to have a college mascot named for it! A ride on an airboat is the best way to Check out the rest of the gator population in Coopertown

The tour itself is really nice. You are almost guaranteed to see alligators in the wild. The majority of the tour is on the open everglades high grass waterways. The driver did some cool ski slides. He pointed out interesting animals and plants along the way. Back at the base location where your car is parked, they offer a short show with snakes, turtles, and more alligators in pens. Be sure to buy, have, and wear mosquito repellent. I had 10 bites in just under 1 minute before the guy told me to go back and put on repellent.

Third time in Florida, but first airboat tour. Researched a few online and this came out well up there. Our party of 9 all went. It was fantastic fun, although there were some big thundery showers about and we got caught in a few - but you dry off so no problem.

A informative chat beforehand by Carlos on 'gators and snakes, followed by the ride captained by a youngish Dan, who had a great line in humour as well as great knowledge. Once he'd taken us out and thrashed us around a bit, he stopped in the middle of nowhere, and when the silence settled, spread his arms and said "Welcome to my office"! What a great line!

To be fair, he'd said the 'gators where a little hard to find that day, and we only got to see one, but, that's nature - it doesn't perform to order. That didn't detract from the experience at all.

The shop has the usual stuff - hats and t-shirts and other paraphernalia. Didn't stop to eat in the "restaurant" which is, rough and ready, and the restrooms were lacking a little love and attention.

I would highly recommend this trip. We all thought is was a great thing to have done.

Kids got to hold a real Gator after the ride! Very nice experience. Animal observatory on site was a little lame but the people were very knowledgeable.

We have done a couple of Airboat tours in the past but never have I seen so many gators in one trip.
Robert, our guide, did a great job. He took us out of the wetlands, and stopped at a few places to look at the wildlife. Funny to see that the Gators actually approached the boat on their own after Robert clapped his hands.
Afterwards we had a nice demonstration back at the facilities. Never knew that turtles could be more dangerous than gators.
Anyway great exeperience. I wonder why we have not tried this place before. It is after all the first tourcompany coming from Miami over the US-41.

That's the new word now days and that's how my kids described it. We had so much fun. Our guide was Robert and he did a great job. He took us on a boat ride that we will remember forever. He stopped at a few places so we could look for gators. Robert clapped his hands and up came the gator. Afterwards Robert brought out a small gator for us to hold. We have triplets that are 10 and they just loved it. Place looks run down, but it was a great memory maker. Ladies inside were nice. We would go there again. Highly recommended!
