Owner description: Our professional airboat guides will take you on a personalized, educational airboat tour covering approximately 9 miles of this unique environment. We first go into the vast open saw grass where you will see why the Everglades are called the "River of Grass"! You will travel by Airboat through a Hardwood Hammock (a small island of solid ground in the "river of grass"), into the Everglades National Park stopping at alligator holes and seeing the abundance of 'glades wildlife. See the Purple Gallanule voted the most colorful bird in Florida and the endangered Everglade Snail Kite as well as herons, grackles, turtles, raccoons and other Everglades residents! The Everglades are a truly unique and vibrant environment which you can only experience first hand! Unless you brought your hip waders, a private airboat tour is the best way to see it! (And much drier, too!) After this fascinating and educational airboat tour, relax and enjoy a taste of 'Down Home' cooking, Everglades-style. The Coopertown Restaurant offers such delicacies as frog legs, 'gator tail, catfish and more! All served in a friendly country manner that is distinctly "Floridian". "Belly up" to the bar and meet the folks of Coopertown! Learn some of the fascinating history of the area, and check out the guest book to see who else has passed through and enjoyed a ride on a Coopertown Airboat! Take a closer look at these fascinating creatures in our Alligator Exhibit! What a cute little guy! Popular enough to have a college mascot named for it! A ride on an airboat is the best way to Check out the rest of the gator population in Coopertown

This stop is early in the Everglades so you don't have to spend an entire day at the park if you don't have time. The ride was beautiful and the boat guide was informative and very funny. I saw mature and baby alligators, beautiful birds, snakes, fish and turtles while on the boat. The Everglades are a must to visit while in Miami.

Way more than we expected!! This was our second airboat tour on our Florida vacation. We loved our first one with a different company so much that we wanted to do it again, and this experience far surpassed our first airboat ride. Mike, our guide, was very knowledgeable about the area, wildlife, and the Everglades in general. He made the experience fun and educational. Also, he was very accommodating for the picture takers on the boat and made sure everybody got a good view of the action. In addition to the airboat ride, there was a very interesting and educational show and tell led by one of the other guides about local wildlife. This is not to be missed!! Great facility, great equipment, great bargain!!!

Took this airboat ride this afternoon with the family and it was great fun - especially when our the airboat got stuck on a mudbank and we had to transfer to another boat (quickly, efficiently and with good humour all round).
Our tour guide showed us some exquisite nature in the Everglades and related facts about the wildlife as we toured around. The gators were huge and the birds beautiful.
A great adventure and a brilliant way to see the Everglades first hand.

Based on their website pictures, video & TA reviews, stopped here for our first "airboat ride" thinking we'd be getting what was advertised, as well as the airboats we could see from the road and the entrance gate. (which are the smaller, open front boats) We paid for our tickets to the friendly, but rushed gal at the counter who seemed too hurried to answer questions. Upon entering the gate, we then saw the large 24-30 (approx.) person sized boats with windshields. We were the only ones there and was told we'd be off in 15 minutes. We waited 40 minutes, a few more folks showed up. We had asked if we would be taking the smaller airboat and was told that was only for private tours. Wonder why this could not have been mentioned or offered upon buying tickets, and why the "large" airboats are not in plain sight before buying tickets? So 6 of us were put on a huge boat. We were put right in front with an extremely dirty windshield (with several bird droppings literally running down the entire windshield right in front of us) so there was no real clear view of what we should have enjoyed. The guide was great, but for an overall experience for a first time "airboat ride" we felt it wasn't the real airboat we thought we were getting. And we were looking more for the "ride" experience, and only had about 10 minutes of "riding". The rest we called "putting" as well as sitting for a bit while the guide talked.

This just felt like the advertising is a bit deceptive and customers should be told up front what the options are and that there are different types of "airboats". Hopefully they'll do better at taking just a couple of minutes to clean the windshields as well.

I've chosen the Coopertown airboat among the others based on Trip Advisor reviews. Also that's the only shop I've seen that offered free airboat rides for kids under 7. We really enjoyed the tour! The nature is just amazing in the Everglades National Park! We saw blue heron that had caught a fish just in front of our airboat. Also we saw a few aligators in their natural habitat. Our guide was also very informative and with a great sense of humour. They also have a small zoo with a giant male gator and a few couple of small ones! Also you can hold a baby gator and they won't charge you for that (but people usually give some tips).
