I stayed at this hotel twice coming and going from the Caribbean. Each time I arrived around 10PM and left first thing in the morning. The hotel's location makes this kind of short stay workable -- no shuttle bus and you can walk to it easily -- and there is a good low demand security gate right in front.

The bad news is the they have yet to figure out how to have enough people to check you in when it gets busy. The first time I arrived there was ONE agent with a dozen people until finally a second one showed up -- it took 30 minutes. The second time was better but the agent told me the rush was just over. Be aware -- it can be enough to make you want to scream!

The rooms are older and in need of update -- and fairly variable. The first one was really tired, the second was better. But in both cases the plumbing was quesionable -- no hot water in one and a difficult to flush in the other. And they are small but then again it is only a short stay. They do need to update there sheets -- they were limp and barely stayed on the bed --not so nice.

The good news was the restaurant up at the top. The first time I arrived, I went up stairs and got a very quick bowl of French Onion Soup -- exactly what I needed with a glass of wine -- and they were quick! The second stop they told me there were giving a complimentary breakfast now -- so I tried it. The waiter came quickly, listened that I wanted it fast, and managed a pretty good scrambed egg breakfast. I was impresssed! That place is organized and works.

Would stay there again -- it is so so but great location.

Very good location if you have an early morning flight (2 minutes to check-in area) BUT: rooms are very small and dark, small window facing a wall, hallways noisy at night, queue to elevators, WIFI extra charge, In my opion should be refreshed.

With a cancellation of planned flight and rerouted to fly out if Miami early the next am, the best option was the airport hotel. Top floor restaurant had nice ambience. The rooms were adequately clean and comfortable -- bathroom a little dated. Historically relevant black and white art photos of Miami's earlier glamorous "sun and sand" days decorating the halls at least made you realize life could be worse than a delayed flight -- what if we were making international flights in prop planes?

Rooms are spartan and somewhat small, and the hallways are pretty noisy all night due to its clientele, but you can't beat it for location as it is a five-minute walk from the airline check-in area. It's probably good for an extra hour of sleep compared to the area airport hotels that require a shuttle.

The rooms aren't luxurious, but are certainly nice enough for a one night stay between flights. There were several restaurants close by to choose from, and it saved a lot of time the next morning to just walk a short ways to my flight check-in counter. There are other hotels near the airport of similar quality that are cheaper, but the convenience of being right in the airport was worth the extra cost to me.

Easy access right at airport. No shuttle and easy access to ticketing. If a quick overnight is what you need, this is it. Clean rooms, although on the small size. Bar in lobby and Top of the Port Restaurant on top floor. Doesn't get any easier.

Room was clean and quite. Staying here saved me time in the morning by not having a commute to the airport. Room was a bit on the small side but adequate. No internet except what is available in the airport ($4.95 for 30 minutes or $7.95 for 24 hours also note that Boingo is no longer available in MIA.
