stayed here for two nites while before a cruise. everything about this hotel was modern, luxurious and very friendly. The staff seemed genuine not rehearsed. there is a shuttle from the airport. the price was very reasonable. i didn't eat in the reataurant but a friend did. she said it was excellent.

The Sofitel was nice. It was a little dated. I always pick hotels with room service 24/7, not knowing how I'll feel when I arrive. Sofitel offers a limited menu after midnight, and we did not choose to order anything. They have a small bakery in the lobby that had delicious croissants and other pastries that are made in-house. The shuttle service to and from MIA was reliable and friendly and even provided water for the very short trip. The employees were very friendly and helpful. This is a very good choice if you need to be close to the airport.

Stayed at the Sofitel Miami for a business trip for 2 nights only. Room was average and in need of a major renovation. Breakfast was a la carte and expensive hence chose to pick up individual breakfast items from Starbucks conveniently situated next to the lobby.
The area is quiet with very little night-life or dining options hence a taxi ride to South Beach maybe wise but consider a fare of $50.00 as it is a distance.

Hotel very good! I go to Miami more than a once a year and had never been in this sofitel acahr it would be far from the beach and very close to the airport. But this time was passing after a boat trip and decided to stay three nights. The hotel is very good! and is not far from anything! in 15 minutes by car you anywhere. easy access to the south which has several shopping malls and 10 minutes from South Beach. resstaurante had dinner one night at the hotel and the food was fabulous. Besides the impeccable service. On the last day I was in the pool most of the day. few people and cold beer. parking is easy and cost $ 14 per day. The concierge service was also excellent. You can stay in this hotel without a doubt, without fear of distances.

This hotel was an excellent value for the cost and was only a 5 minute shuttle ride to Miami Airport. The pool is beautiful and the service was excellent. Sofitel is in the class of Hilton, Sheraton, Hyatt, etc. but does not have the same level of visibility in the US so tends to have cheaper comparable ammenities.

I booked this hotel at the very last minute for a short shopping trip just after Xmas, so during the very high season, when most hotels mercilessly jack up their rates as high as possible. I could not have asked for a more pleasant stay. The "Luxury Room" I received, with a beautiful 9th floor view, was priced in line with "Standard Rooms" at competing nearby hotels.

My favorite things about this hotel include: the VERY friendly, welcoming and professional service I received from each and every employee; the food, (not inexpensive but impeccably prepared - noting that I ate in the lounge every evening), and the fluffy, comfy bed. (I LOVE Duvets with soft white sheets!)

Other things I appreciated were the Free WiFi, the little Starbucks cafe, the beautiful pool area, the L'Occitaine toiletries and the fact that I was made to feel quite at home despite being a single female, which isn't always the case when I'm on the road.

The only improvements I would suggest would be for Sofitel to consider upgrading the flooring in its rooms to wood or laminate vs. carpeting; to provide those little white slippers (at least in the Luxury rooms); to add Minibars to the rooms and lastly, to heat the pool - which was downright freezing. While I bravely swam in it, most guests did not due to the water temperature.

I am a very frequent worldwide traveler and have stayed in a wide range of hotels (from basic to very high end). For me, the Sofitel was a good value and I would definitely return there again.
