“Two Overnights at the Embassy Suites”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 12, 2012

I stayed here with two nieces before and after going on a cruise out of Miami. We had a very nice spacious and clean suite as I expected from Embassy Suites. Very convienient for those not renting a car. They have complimentary shuttle that goes back and forth to the airport, 24 hrs a day. I suggest that you have their number to call just in case you don't see their shuttle going by. I was never able to find it at the airport with the other hotel numbers in baggage claim. It is a bit confusing, but you can meet this shuttle at the departures area. They are continually picking up and dropping folks off. All drivers were very friendly and welcome you with a cold bottle of water. They have a team of porters that are very nice and helpful. Even though there is a restuarant on site they will also allow you a free shuttle to resturants/stores within a 3 mile radius if you let them know that you are interested in going. Usually they make a couple trips a day to an area shopping mall as well. If interested, you need to ask about the timing of that. What I liked least about this hotel was the area that it was in. It is quite industrial and not a place that you could walk to much from. I think this is why they are so generous with their shuttle. Despite being real close to the airport it was not a problem to sleep at night.I can tell you that this hotel is very busy with folks going on cruises. It is perfect for that. They have a nice pool and hot tub area to relax by. As you have to expect being next to the airport planes do fly over once in a while. Not a big deal for us. Both days we were not able to get into our rooms until 3-4PM; they advertise check-in to be at 3PM. However, they will hold your bags and allow you to use their facilities while you wait to get into your room. Plan on spending the day at the pool or get the shuttle to the mall if you are flying in early so that you are not dissappointed if you can't get to your room as soon as you arrive. The complimentary full breakfast with make to order omelets was absolutely wonderful. There is something for everyone. They also have a managers reception for a couple hours each evening with complimentary drinks and snacks. You don't want to miss it. I would recommend this hotel to anyone going into Miami without a car that wants to avoid the expense of taxi's and has an early flight. You can also take the shuttle back to the airport to catch other local transportation. Since we were going on a cruise we didn't have time for this. We took a taxi on the morning of our cruise to the Miami Port for about $30. I would highly recommend this clean and safe hotel with a friendly staff to everyone.

Room Tip: Not a lot of nice views due to the industrial area this hotel is in. Our room overlooked the pool ar...

My wife and I stayed her for only 1 night before going on a cruise. For an airport hotel in Miami this one was surprisingly nice. I give it four points in the rating from comparison with others in area. We had a nice clean suite as expected. What was unexpected was the beauty of the lobby at Christmas time. The hotel staff were also an unexpected surprise for their friendliness from check in to check out. They were excellent. The front desk called our room shortly after our arrival to check if all was ok. We ate in the restaurant for our evening meal and it was average, but the servers were excellent. Breakfast at Embassy suites are usually excellent and this one lived up to expectations. However, it was holiday season and it was a packed so tables were hard to come by. The staff cleared the tables really quickly (without much help from the guests, i might add) Having tried many hotels near the airport for a 1 night stay this one goes to the top of my list. we will definately return to this one. They provide shuttle service from the airport and arranged our transport to the cruise ship. in a city not known for courteous service and this hotel is the mecca of quality service!!

Room Tip: the higher the floor the quieter the room

Anyone who has anything bad to say about this hotel is insane. Everything about our experience was top notch. The hotel was amazing, the staff was incredible, the hot tub and pool area was great. We were right by the airport so they offered free shuttle to the airport and you could catch a bus to anywhere. They offered shuttled service to Wrestlemania which saved us a whole lot of trouble. The breakfast in the morning was killer and the reception at night was fun. They even left roses for us when we got there.

We loved this hotel and everything about it.

This hotel is in a strange neighborhood with no restaurants or stores or anything but aluminum recycling and other industrial businesses nearby. The traffic patterns in the area are weird and you have to make an odd u-turn to get to the hotel. The parking was an extra (expensive) fee and there was no free wi-fi. The property feels a bit dated and our room had a funky, musty smell in it. Our window view was of a water treatment plant or something, with some old abandoned-looking boats next door. The TV in the bedroom kept losing the picture. Our toilet wasn't working, but the problem was fixed by the time we returned to the hotel that evening. Definitely not the most pleasant stay we've had in an Embassy Suites, but we're starting to wonder if the chain is aging and some of the properties now lack the excellence we came to expect from Embassy Suites in the past. It's a good location if you need to be by the airport, but there are better choices if you're looking for a nice suite hotel.

Close to the airport, but noisy indoors!! Must have been aome type of sporting event because kids were running around the atrium of the hotel being loud way after midnight.

Then there were the ants on my nightstand and on the ned - which because i was so tired the night before -i didn't even see until morning... yuk!

Best part by far was our dining experience at Grill 305!! Superb service (by our waiter, Gregory) and atmosphere of restaurant, and even delicious food. Get their key lime pie!! ;)

Probably wont stay here again, but would eat here again!

2travelinFoolz,

Thank you for the comments from your stay with us. We appreciate you dining in our restaurant Grill 305, where our Executive Chef Craig Russell offers a very innovative and creative cuisine. I appreciate the very nice comments on Gregory, I am glad he made sure you had an amazing time and took good care of you. I will make sure to pass this onto him. The restaurant really does a great job and they are always receiving great comments from our guests.

I am very sorry about the ants in your room. This is not the norm as we have a very good pest control program. I will make sure this room is inspected thouroughly so this does not happen again.

We hope you will give us another opportunity with a return visit. Despite this disappointing stay, we truly hope you will return to our property in the future.

Kind regards,

Gus Lima

This hotel is a very nice place to stay especially with its convenient location. The staff was very helpful and pleasant. The rooms are very nice, loads of space and the presence of the microwave and fridge makes things so much better. However, when we arrived we found the room to be EXTREMELY dusty. My allergies were triggered after being in the room for about 3 hours. Had to sell an arm and a leg to pay for Claritin at the little convenience store, and it didn't help. The following day, I continued to sneeze, nose continued to run, eyes continued to water as I waited for housekeeping to come to clean. She came in the afternoon and was leaving without vacuuming the room. I had to call her back. The next day, my allergies were 95% better, so who knows when last the carpet was vacuumed...

All in all the experience wasn't horrible, but it would be nice if the carpets were cleaned regularly.

Free cocktail hour, free breakfast, free shuttle with 2 miles, all suites, great lil' gym, nice pool area, beautiful courtyard, excellent staff, free airport shuttle, 10$ return fare to major mall. Great comfortable bed,
Older property that appears to have undergone renos. Furniture in rooms is very modern dark brown. Beautiful stone counters throughout, lots of extras in rooms, 2 flat screen tv's.
We were there during a very busy March Break. The service staff did their utmost to keep customers happy, well fed and well attended too. We highly recommend this hotel...and I'm picky!!
