We have sailed from Miami several times before and always stayed somewhere on South Beach, in the usual Art Deco hotels which abound there
This time we decided we wanted somewhere different, and plumped for the Intercontinetal. I am glad we did. We found this hotel to be very clean and well maintained. The bed was very comfortable. It has a huge lobby area but only a small bar. It has several ballrooms and there were a number of weddings on while we were there.
I noted from some other reviews on here, about the TV's need upgrading . I would agree with that, but that is only a minor detail. I also noted somebody mentioning the concierge staff not being particularly helpful or friendly. I would have to disagree on that one, they were always pleasant whenever we passed and had a smile. They were partiularly helpful at checkout, ( mind you they did get a tip).
The hotel is also a short walk from Bayside wherre there are plenty of places to eat and drink, and if you do want to use public transport there is a bus stop almost outside, only $2 to Lincoln Rd on South Beach
I would certainly recommend this hotel and would definately stay there again before a cruiseMore
