I traveled to Miami for the Ironman 70.3 Miami and this was one of the host hotels. For the price, I do not think it is a good value. It is fairly expensive, and the location is not ideal unless you want to be in the downtown area. The check-in/check-out process was very long (I waited in line when I arrived and departed for quite some time). The rooms are average, as well as the facilities.

Let me start off by saying, the service level was great. But no level of service can make me return to this property. The room was horrible and disgusting. How can a so called 4 star hotel, give a customer a room with black stains all over the floor, mold in the bathroom on tiles as well in the ceiling. there were holes in the drapes and a hole in my sheet.

There is no reason this location should continue to have a 4 star rating. Maybe 10 to twenty years ago but today it's more like a 2.5 at best. I checked out the next day and moved to the Courtyard Marriott across the street which was flawless.

I was in Miami this month for a seminar given at the Hyatt Regency downtown and opted to stay there to avoid having a commute. The location is quite lovely, being on the water. Each day I would go out and sit by the canal to watch boats go by. Fantastic. Not so good was the condition of my room, a suite, at that. The size of the suite was fine, but it was in bad need of a makeover, and especially, of a thorough cleaning. And I mean thorough. There were skid marks on the entrance wall, the couch was so grungy and stained I never sat in it during my 6 days there. The wall to wall carpet is at this point, I'm sure, a health hazard of uncleanliness. The table desktop had sticky stains, and the chair was stained and tired looking as well. The only thing clean were the sheets and pillow cases. I asked the chambermaid to change the mattress cover because, well, let me just say it needed to be changed. I spoke with the front desk about the situation and they bent over backwards to make it up by sending me a bottle of wine and strawberries, comping my internet and breakfast. They knew the hotel rooms were not in good shape. They apologized and said there are plans to "eventually" renovate the hotel. Until that is done, I recommend you pass on this hotel, and book yourself into the nearby other choices. Sorry to say, because really the front desk staff were absolutely lovely, though they actually admitted to never seeing the hotel rooms! Maybe they're too afraid! :)

Room Tip: Get a room elsewhere for now... :)

Located at the very heart of Miami, it is very convenient, either if you are for fun or business. The Business Center is OK. The only thing that bothered me was the decoration, it seems it need a retrofit, as it looks old. Valet parking there is very expensive, as it is in most of that area, so you may decide to use a public parking available at walking distance, but still it is not cheap.

We recently stayed at Hyatt in downtown Miami- great location, right across Biscayne Bay and great river view from the room. The staff is very friendly and quick to respond to your needs and they serve an excellent breakfast at the lobby restaurant. However the hotel itself is in great need of renovation, carpets are old and dirty and the bathroom and vanity area are from last century with horrible lighting. The worst however is the internet connection- we have never had such bad, slow and almost non-existent connection, which is really sad when you think this hotel mostly targets business people and work related conferences. Overall, it was not a bad stay however it could have been better for Hyatt standards.

Room Tip: Make sure you get a room at a higher floor and with a river view
