“Great Downtown Miami Property, Excellent Service!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 7, 2012 via mobile

We booked The Hyatt Regency Miami as a last minute idea. It's a great Downtown hotel in a nice area. Daniel checked us in and was extemely professional and accomodating. We stayed in an awesome king suite on the top floor. I placed a large late night order at the bar and the manager had everything boxed, bagged and sent to our room. The room decor caters more to the business professional rather than leasure guest but is great for either. This is a 4 Star property with 5 Star service!

We stayed at this hotel before and after our cruise to the Caribbean. It is located perfectly for this reason! Itis also close to Bricknell which has lots of restaurants and night life. When we returned we took a cab to Bayside center, again, lots of shops and restaurants. The hotel was clean and had a nice bed. We stayed on the 24th floor and had a lovely view!

Using reward points we thought we were getting club level. Had to get room change. Cost $50.00 a night to change. We thought that meant drinks and h'orderves, plus breackfast. Entering the small club area greeted by great staff. Very little food and drinks where cash bar. Attendants were great in the club room. Not sure what we paid the extra money for. I guess we have been spoiled by InterContinental Hotel club levels. Good place to stop night before cruise.

Room Tip: Always ask what the club level includes before upgrading.

We normally stay a couple of nights in Miami after a long flight and before driving over to the Gulf coast. We often choose the Hyatt. Good position with easy access to the monorail which is free and very handy to save one's legs. Friendly reception.

Room Tip: Any room on a high floor with a view which most seem to have.

I think this was a great place to stay and so close to the metromover. I will say that I wish that there was a shuttle back and forth to airport because you will be spending atleast 25.00. The overall atmosphere of the hotel was nice I wish that the balcony opened up were were on the 18th floor and I wouldve loved to eat breakfast there like at the hotel across the street.

Theh hotel has been around for a few years but with current price levels it surely gives good value. Very good service by friendly staff.

This is strictly a Business Hotel. If you are in Miami to have fun with your family...this is absolutely the wrong choice! It is indeed in Downtown but next to nothing. Parking is damn expensive and is purely valet as self parking is across the street. Wear and tear of walls in corridor, dirty carpets..its completely run down. The worst part is the walls of the room which are extremely thin. I read that in earlier reviews but never thought that it would be so bad. No matter how low the people in the next room speak, you can still hear them in the middle of the night. We complained thrice through the night but there was no response. The only saving grace was the Starbucks in the lobby. But, overall a disaster if you are on vacation but an average cheap option if on business. You make the choice!!
