“Ok-good location”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 4, 2012

The room was ok...a bit cramped with 2 double beds. You had to move a table to be able to open/close the curtains. No upgrade provided, even to a king bed and I have a high level in their priority rewards program.

The pros:
Good Location across from Arena and Bayside shopping; Bed was comfortable, clean; Room Safe with key;Very nice restaurant staff;Nice view of the bay

The cons
*Parking is terrible. There are a limited number of spaces and the employees use most of them. I returned from a meeting to find the hotel lot full and the public lot behind the hotel also full. I was told by the front desk to try again after 11:00 pm when the employees leave. I had to park in the Bayside parking across the street and move my car at 11:30pm..not fun.
*Room service was 30 minutes late and then showed up with cold, burned toast.
*Front Desk Staff not very hospitable or helpful.
*Thin walls. You will hear everything from the people in the next room opening the curtains to someone coughing. If you need it quiet, be warned.

My partner and I stayed here specifically to attend the Madonna concert at American Airlines Arena across the road, so it was perfectly situated. The room was clean and spacious, but my partner thought the room smelt a bit smokey-and they will charge you $2500 if you smoke in the rooms! The staff were very friendly and helpful when we pointed this out and the smell went pretty quickly. The room had an amazing view, but the walls are quite thin, and you can clearly hear the people in the next room. This may sound a bit negative, but I really enjoyed my stay. The breakfast buffet is varied and tastes great. The main plus point for this hotel is the location, with the Bayside Marketplace across the road (with restaurants, shops and boat cruises), a good bus service across the street that can take you to South Beach and a free Metro Mover train service that can take you to shopping malls. Would definitely stay here again!

Room Tip: We had a corner room, so only had noise on one wall and a great view

Stayed at this hotel for 1 night,, was ok location, right acros from the "bayside" shopping spring, service was good, was allowed early check in, kept my baggage untill room was ready, breakfast in the resturant was somewhat pricy compared to the quality of the food, noise from the traffic was minimal, selection on the entertainment system in the rooms TV was more than enough, rooms was spacius, bathroom was clean, so all in all a good hotel for the location and the price of the stay...

Stayed one night at this Holiday Inn last wk the night before leaving on a cruise. The staff were very nice and helpful, check in was quick and easy. At checkout, they even split the bill between the 2 of us sharing the room, putting half on each credit card. Very helpful! The business center came in very handy, when I discovered I had forgotten to pack my cruise documents, including my luggage tags and confirmations for booking excursions (not through the ship). I was able to quickly print out everything I needed. The room itself was large, well equipped and the bed was quite comfortable. Sheets felt like high quality. Only thing I noticed, was the bathroom was not quite up to the rest of it. The sink top was very small, the tub looked old and somewhat stained..not dirty, just not glossy. There was a black smear on the wall behind the door, just behind the hinges. I suspect the hinges were oiled and that is what the smear is, but thats just a guess. It was clean, plenty of towels and had shampoo and conditioner.
Overall, a great place to stay when wanting to have easy access to cruise port and Bayside.

We usually stay in Holiday Inn hotels when we vacation but this time I chose this one due to the location to the cruise ship port. We flew into Ft Lauderdale and took the public transportation to get to the hotel. I was impressed how easy it was to get around. We did have to go from trirail to metrorail to metromover but considering how cheap it was I would do it again. The hotel lobby and staff were great. The views from our room were fantastic. The room was good. The bathroom was very small and while it was in nice shape there was no counter space at all. My only recommendation is to put a mirror in the room where you could put on makeup or do your hair. The hotel room was a little overpriced but I know your paying for the convenience of the location.

We originally had booked at this misleading place about a block away (Residence at Bayside) and came across this Holiday Inn. We were exhausted, tired and hungry from our flight and stressed on our situation. We had 10 family members that needed rooms right away. Nicole immediately assisted us and called us on our cell while we were eating, when our rooms were ready. The next day they said they were booked, and Oscar assisted us in keeping us in the same rooms, which made it easier for everybody. Rogee(?) assisted us in the tour of the everglades. Not only was the staff very pleasant, but it was in a prime location. We went to party across the street to Bayside within walking distance. I highly recommend this Hotel and would plan on going back again.

I booked a room at the Holiday inn Port of Miami for one night before leaving on a cruise. Got it at a good rate. Taxi from the airport was about $26. Hotel was great. Free Wi-fi. Great location, as I went to meet some new friends at a restaurant across the street at Bayside. Taxi from the hotel to the port was about $9. Overall great experience.

Room Tip: Some overlook the bay, some overlook the city.
