We went here on a whim because our first choice was booked; this will from now on be our favorite. Food was wonderful, I had a fabulous rigatoni and my husband had a great fish special. Good wines - a nice pinot noir and a very good chianti. Best of all was the service; if you are not from this area (we are) you may not realize just how hard it is to find good service in Miami. This place made us feel like home. If you are in Miami this is absolutely the place to go. I just can't emphasize how wonderful this restaurant is.

If you are looking for a chic and delicious business lunch in the heart of Miami's financial district look no further. Farfalle has a great environment and delicious food. Excellent location, walkable from most major offices and high rises in downtown Miami. You can enjoy a casual healthy bite or make it a chic full on business lunch. Enjoy this local's favorite!

On 16th Feb, we had dinner here for two people, the restaurant was quite busy but not yet crazy busy. Service seemed great at first, friendly waiter opened the door for us and sat us down, offered us water and the menus. He introduced himself as our server for the night and ran through the specials for us......but we virtually never saw him or any other waiter/waitress again that night! The restaurant got more busy and our designated waiter went off to man the bar and never came back basically. Since they run on a designated server system, nobody else paid us any attention (even though we were either eagerly trying to flag one of them down or quite obviously finished with our food) and when we did get somebody’s attention, they would refer us to another server or halfheartedly bring us what we requested. We asked for some pepper for our pasta (yes, we were not offered cheese or pepper after our food came) and she turned the grinder above my pasta for about 2 seconds, not even looking at the dish, such that most of it went onto the edge of my dish (big flat pasta dish with a deep dip for the pasta in the centre) and then she walked off. Really stuck up and unfriendly attitude from this waitress, no smiles and barely even a word - a few impatient nods. Not enough pepper at all but didn’t but want to wait another 15 minutes to catch somebody else’s attention!

After ordering our food, a pretty long wait for our starters. We had bread plates and a knife but we hadn’t been offered bread. Looked around and everybody else had been brought a basket of bread, olive oil and balsamic vinegar... then we saw we were sat opposite their bread station too. Servers would come and go bringing our food, move the bread plates around to make space and then clear up the food when we were done, awkwardly reshuffling the plates. It was obvious we hadn’t been offered bread, given the clean bread plates they kept having to move, pretty awful not to spot that one or at least just take the plates away!

Nobody came to check on us, fill up our water or check how we were enjoying the food. As I mentioned already, no pepper or cheese unless you asked. It looked like the restaurant was way too busy and possibly understaffed, which I can understand but we also noticed that the level of service we got compared to tables either side was considerably worse - may be because we ‘lost’ our waiter so to speak but frankly, that’s just not good enough. Tables with larger parties came in much later than we did and still we got our food around the same time... a long wait for mains!

After finishing mains, a ridiculously long wait for somebody to clear up plates we were obviously done with - to the point that we tried to flag staff down as they walked past but to no avail. Many marched past wandering their heads avoiding our gaze. Eventually we got hold of somebody who rushed over and ran off with the plates, so another long wait until we could get hold of the dessert menu and then another long wait for dessert itself to come. Tiramisu was good but presentation seemed rushed compared to what I had seen being served to other tables (cocoa dusting and strawberry garnish missing) - just ever so slightly sub-par. Once we were done, same story... waited so long trying to catch a waiter to ask for the bill that we could’ve walked out without paying and they probably wouldn’t have known any better. The place was buzzing around the bar area and maybe because there were a few tables of 4/5 (this doesn’t even justify it to be honest, how ‘abnormal’ is a table of 4/5..), our table was neglected but either way, just unacceptable. We tipped 15% even though the level of service was close to zero and I’m just glad we didn’t get a manager come back and argue for more tip like somebody of the other reviews on here!

Besides the above, the food is ok but especially given the price, nothing special. We got burratalini to start which was good but the tomatoes and salad/pesto sauce that accompanied it was much too overly salted. Pastas were good, portion sizes ok but I wouldn’t have thought this place had a number 2 ranking had I not known.

All in all, service absolutely terrible which may have been anomalous for the restaurant, given that it has a lot of great reviews and food was good but for the price (and high % tipping culture in the US), food not worth it. If you’re considering this place whilst on a trip to Miami and live somewhere where you can eat great authentic Italian food for cheap, wouldn’t recommend this restaurant.
