We flew into Miami the night before a Celebrity cruise. This property was a perfect location and as it was a weekend, had a great value rate at $ 109....plus a Marriott promo for a $ 100 coupon. Our net cost was tax and $9.
Excellent marriott quality, clealiness, roominess, and efficiency. Marriott bedding is simply the best for comfort. Definitely a great venue if you have a cruise or an early flight the next day. Free shuttle.
Very pleasant experience overall.

First time in Miami so we didn't know what to expect especially after reading the reviews. We stayed there three nights before our cruise and wouldn't hesitate to return. This hotel was comfortable with excellent food and great service. It was reasonably priced with a pre-cruise package that included their buffet breakfast for two. Parking and the shuttle to the ship were inexpensive. Computers with internet accesswere free in the lobby but we could have had service in the room for a fee. This worked well for cost cutting.

I stayed one night here on a flight change stopover. Getting there was tedious, the airport shuttle seemed to run less regularly than other chain hotels. On arrival the front desk was understaffed.

However ...... I was taken ill during my stay and needed to call Rescue. The Security Guard (sadly I don't remember her name) was extremely helpful and empathetic to the situation. She also looked after my luggage until colleagues collected it.

I didn't try any of the amenities but the bar and restaurant areas had clearly been recently upgraded to a good standard. The room was modern and comfortable - all you'd need and reasonably priced.

Overall, this is a very nice hotel property designed like a campus with other Marriott properties within a stone’s through of each other. A Courtyard and Residence Inn share the large fitness center and pool with the Marriott. A Fairfield Inn sits close by, but doesn’t share anything with the Marriott, Courtyard and Residence Inn.

For some odd reason, this newly renovated Marriott offers allergy friendly rooms called “Pure”. At check in I was totally confused due to the explanation of this room type –dust free and some king of special treatment – all for $20 more. No one wants to stay in a room filled with pollen and dust. The front desk clerk assured me all the rooms were dust free. The whole concept seemed confusing, but clearly a way for the Miami Airport Marriott to slap guest with a $20 upgrade fee if other rooms are sold out.

As a Platinum member I got a free upgrade to a mini suite. It was very nice. It had a living room with sofa, two flat screens, large dining table, nice bedroom and huge large bathroom. Everything was perfect, except the lock to the door.

Here's the hiccup! I was unhappy that the door to my room was open all day. I noticed this when I returned that evening at 6:30 pm. The key didn’t work. However, when I leaned on the door to try to figure out what was wrong, it opened. I called security right away to investigate the situation.

At 6:45 pm Mr. Kent from security arrived and checked the door. He tried the key and found it didn’t work. He then pushed on the door and found it opened into the room. He took the lock apart and noticed that a new lock needed to be installed.

During the course of about an hour, Marriott security drilled holes in the door jam and installed a locking system that worked properly. This was an inconvenience for me as a hotel guest. However, I wanted to make sure it was fixed before we left to go back out.
No one followed up to see if we were pleased with the outcome.

General manager John Mulrey was unavailable. I later found out his is no longer with Marriott though his name appears in the room literature. Bad job Marriott Airport for not having an up to date management list in the Guest Services book.

The front desk threw in some bonus Marriott reward points and free dinner at the restaurant for the hassle. I wasn't thrilled to get what they gave us for having to interrupt the evening for the repair. It wasn’t enough of a “Thank You” to have taken time out of our schedule to deal with this situation/ After all, we made sure the room would be secure for future guests. They said I got a free room upgrade, but I got that prior to the discovering the door was broke.

Aside from this Marriott mishap, the hotel is nice and the food is wonderful.

We stayed at the Marriott Miami airport for 1 night pre-cruise. We got the promotion for only eighty-two dollars per night for a king room, then upgrade to a 1-bed suite which was HUGE. Do get the suite if you have kids with you because it gives them more space to move around. We had late-arrival so only spent the night there fdor sleeping, didn't have much time to explore around much.

Things liked at this Marriott:
-free airport shuttle arriving promptly
-no wait at check in, check out
-very large suite rooms, with full-size dining/meeting table, sofas, chairs, small kitchen with microwave, sink
-very clean
-marble bathrooms
-well-stocked amenities (shampoo, conditioner, lotion, soap, cotton balls, Q-tips)
-comfortable beds
-nice housekeeping staff who set up the roll-away bed for us
-very nice lobby area with lots of sitting, beautifully decorated

Things don't like:
-lobby bar very close to front desk, can be very laud at times (due to some guests)

Food offered at the hotel are expensive. For breakfast, we went to a Latino restaurant right outside the hotel. Just turn left after you're out of the front of the hotel and you'll see 2 tables outdoors. You can also eat inside the restaurant with air conditioning. THey accept credit cards. For 3 adults 2 kids we spent about $29 plus tips, for omellet, pancakes, sausages, bacons, milk, coffee.

The next morning we took a taxi to Miami port instead of $11 pp shuttle from the hotel. Taxi fare is $26 so it saved us a few dollars. Also, we could just go to the port anytime after checking out.

All in all, we liked the Marriott at Miami airport.

My stay at the Miami Airport Marriott was for one night (a Thursday) prior to boarding a cruiseship. Check-in was effecient and friendly at 10am after a long all-night trip from the West Coast. I was assigned room 477, which was well-equipped with lots of towels, a big comfortable bed with 6 pillows of both foam and feathers, iron & ironing board, & a great bi-level desk with good lighting and computer outlets.

As recommended in previous reviews, 2 internet stations as well as free wifi are available in the lobby. After signing into the internet with a laptop in the lobby, you can continue to use the wifi in your room for free (noon to noon). Otherwise, internet and unlimited local and long distance calls are $14.95 per day. When I asked a staff member for more sugar and cream for the in-room cofffe maker, lots of additional supplies arrived at my room within minutes.

The gym facilities are good. There is a reasonable selection of free weights and machines with towels and water available.

We arrived at 10 p.m. om 31st December from Italy to begin a car trip of the whole Florida circumnavigation, so we decide to sleep at the airport to leave Miami soon in the morning.

We booked online with a good price that included parking and internet connection through "Marriott rewards" (it is free and in big chains as Marriott and Hilton, especially in the US, it give you always high floor and some benefits).

We got a last floor, totally silence and a very nice and clean room. It is a bit old fashioned (surely not an art deco hotel!) but with a correct price.

The bed was soo good and we slept perfectly.

A very nice stay even if far from the city (anyway it takes only 15 minutes by car to South Beach)
