The atmosphere is "groovy".. laid back and economically satisfying. We had a party of 10 and the staff tended to our table on queue, never missing a beat. The music was upbeat, food was deliciously awesome, and the spirits were plentiful.. The Grove Spot offers nothing but enjoyment!

We ate at the Grove Spot because it was across the street from our hotel. We saw that it had mixed reviews however overall we were pleased. A little Dutch flair in the menu. Service may need to be a little better but the food was good. Coffee is very strong. We ate upside which reminds me of the bistros in Paris.

The Grove Spot is a very cool place, and one of the best options for breakfast, mid-afternoon or evening snacks in the neighborhood. The Dutch chef definitely puts a Dutch touch on the menu, and, having lived in Amsterdam for 4 wonderful years, it definitely brought back some good memories. Breakfast was always my favorite meal in The Netherlands.

Anyway, the caveat -- big warning here -- is that the place is clearly understaffed and if it's busy the service and the food goes downhill. That's also something that does remind me of Amsterdam, so I'm used to it -- but most of you reading this probably are not, so if you walk up to the place and it looks crowded, turn around and come back later or the following day.

The ideal time to come is right when it opens for breakfast, when it will be empty since Miami is a late town.
