We visit this La Carreta location on every visit to Miami for authentic Cuban food and some of the best cuban coffee in Miami. Outside by the coffee bar you can have an expresso coffee or cortadito. Top those off with croquettes or a pastelito made of guayaba and you are set with a quick snack any time of the day. Inside at the restaurant or the eating counter the food is quite varied in selection. The cuban sandwich and the media noche are as good if not better than any other restaurant in Miami ( only Versailles has has them better). The Puerco Asado (Roast Pork) is very good as a sandwich or as a plate with black beans and rice. The bistec de Palomilla while very tasty was not as tender as it should be when we ate there last time. The soups, beans and maduro are excellent as they should be. The portions are large. The service is very friendly and attentive. They have a happy hour on drinks, buy on get one free.

A great way to start the day. Outstanding cafe con leche. Superb service. The setting is a bit tired, nothing fancy, but the breakfast hit the spot, and the service from Lourdes could not have been nicer. Quick and efficient, pleasant & friendly.

While it's not as good as it used to be, it is still a taste of home. I stopped in for take out late one evening and ordered a little of everything (no meat as we're vegetarians)... plantains, yuca frita, boiled yuca, pan cubano, frijoles negros con arroz, pastelitos... YUM! I do remember the servings being bigger in the past though...

Great chain of Cuban restaurants all over Miami and at the airport. Get your fix of excellent and cheap Cuban food, very popular with the locals and tourists alike. Don't miss trying STRONG Cuban coffee..my favorite the COLADA (or a CORTADITO for those who prefer with milk). Beats Starbucks any day!

This plaza is perfect for typical simple Cuban delights. It didn't earn 5 stars this time because we went I'm the morning and asked for croquetas and pastelitos and they were stale. They tasted as if they had been there for a long while.
Overall this place usually is great.
