“A touch stinky? But good food!”
Reviewed January 19, 2013

By the water, Garcia's fresh-air covered patio, picnic-table seating area was a bit redolent of the seafood fare, but we very much enjoyed the atmosphere on a recent Sunday night. Specials were pricy but can be shared. I had snapper which was lovely, and sisters split a seafood casserole special, Mom enjoyed her shrimp (so adventurous of her!). Service was fine: attentive and quick enough--also helped a lot in explaining choices. Would definately return but hope for a bit more breeze.

“Niece River View So So Food”
Reviewed January 19, 2013

Good view of the river, not comfy seating (terrace). Oysters on the shell fresh. Fried fish a little over-cooked. The house salad small and not plentiful. Service give and take... Small birds flying close to you, good for children. Bit pricy for what you get.

“Fresh grilled fish and shrimp on the river”
Reviewed January 14, 2013 via mobile

I found Garcia's listed on a bunch of websites with mixed reviews. I decided to go because the seafood is very fresh and there's a big patio overlooking the river.

We went on a weekday for lunch, and while it got pretty crowded outside around 1PM, the service was very friendly and it didn't take very long for us to get our food and drinks.

The server recommended the grilled shrimp, which came deliciously spiced and only needed a bit of lime juice to make it absolutely perfect. We got fried conch, which was a little heavy but great as well, and then a whole grilled yellowtail which we devoured.

You won't find this place walking around town, since it's located up the river and I couldn't really see anything around except fishing boats and underpasses, but it's definitely worth going to if you're craving some very fresh and nicely cooked seafood.

In terms of the crowd, we saw a good mix of tourists and locals coming for lunch. The prices are great - we went a little overboard since we were getting wine by the glass when instead we should have gotten a bottle (or two)... We underestimated how long we would want to hang out there under the sun. I'm thinking dinner for two would set you back around $100 if you share two apps and one entree.

“Good Meal, ok service”
Reviewed January 9, 2013 via mobile

My husband and i ate here upon reccommendation from the hotel consierge. The meal was pretty good, large portions (we actually could have split the meal). It was fairly busy so the service was a little slow, but the view is pretty. We really enjoyed the conch frittets and blackened white snapper that we had, the sides were ok...

“Amazing spot for fresh fish, go for lunch”
Reviewed January 8, 2013 via mobile

We have been to Garcias twice and will definitely be back when we are in the area. We love to go for lunch and sit upstairs on the outside deck. The beers are ice cold, literally the coldest beer I have ever had. So refreshing! The fresh seafood is amazing- I recommend the grilled yellowtail and grilled shrimp. It is a very casual ambiance, so it wouldn't be my first choice for dinner. But don't miss it for lunch!! Parking is valet only (it is free).
