Met some friends for lunch. Chicken salad sandwich was good. The club sandwich on Cuban bread was skimpy on meat. Ham in the sandwich was nothing but fat. Luncheon steak was good and portion was adequate. Service is fair. Price is average.

Good Cuban food and the atmosphere is really Cuban (every employee here is Cuban). The portions are generous, prices are low, and this place is famous for its ham croquetas. If you don’t know Spanish, I suggest you take a Spanish-Speaking friend. Don’t go thru the Drive-Thru (You will spend 30+ mins in the drive-thru). This place is out in Kendall, there really isn’t anything around for tourists to look at, go there if you are in the area, but I wouldn’t drive 20+ mins to just eat here.

This restaurant is very well-known by the Cuban community in the area. It is not located on the famous Eight Street (Calle Ocho) in Little Habana. It is way out there in the suburb, close to Kendall. I know of people that come all the way from Miami Beach or even Key Biscayne to enjoy their famous croquettes (croquetas). The food is well-prepared, fresh and reasonably priced. They have a choice of Plaintain Chips (mariquitas); you can have them sliced round or on the bias - my recommendation: try the round ones (sinfully thin, crispy, hot and delicious!!!). They also have a drive-thru; which has long lines even late at night. Real home-cook Cuban cuisine at its best and made simple - you do not have to get out of your car to bring home a very satisfying meal for the family. If you are in Miami just visiting and want to enjoy Cuban food, forget about the tourist spots, drive a little bit further west and try the real thing. You can thank me later.

Here is a place you will always return to....Good portion's of home made tasty food. Cuba at heart but some different dishes offered on the menu. I suggest anything "Sea- Food. " Or try their " Ropa Vieja ". Very reasonable and family orientated place with cloth table cloth's and napkin's with a pleasant atmosphere. The staff are great! Always happy to see you, get there early or wait a few moments for a booth or table. We eat there often, it's our local dig. Also they have Lamb on the menu! Unheard of in Kendal! If not up for a big commitment like dinner, they offer lunch and also have a take out window counter away from the main area for a quick "Snack & Coffee". Get there hungry!

I feel very lucky to live within blocks from this restaurant. They have a great menu and everything I've tried from breakfast to dinner is good. Breakfast I mostly enjoy the Desayuno Gallego. One of my favorite restaurants to go to with my wife and family that happens to be a minute away from my home!
