“Old school Cuban”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 14, 2013

I spent many years in Miami, so I've been around most of the Cuban (new and old) joints around. When I come back to visit a few times a year, this is the place I come back to. No, it ain't pretty. No, the decor isn't fresh. No, it isn't in the coolest part of town.

But... the food is solid. Vaca frita at it's best. Lovely, friendly Cuban service (if you don't know what that is, visit some other Latin countries and see the difference). It's homey. It's food you get at home when visiting your grandmother. Yeah, basically it just feels like home in a city that is hyper-cool and hyper-modern.

So if you're looking for a slice of what real Cubans eat when they're not doing modern or fusion, go here. Don't expect frills -- you won't get them. But then again, you won't need them.

“Great old school cuban restaurant”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 5, 2013 via mobile

This is a geat old-school cuban restaurant at an affordable price. The staff was extremely helpful on making recommendations on the menu, and the service was great. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area.

“Good old fashioned Cuban food at affordable prices.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 8, 2013

It's not a 5 star restaurant but if you are looking for genuine Cuban food at affordable prices in a relaxed, unpretentious atmosphere, then this is the place for you. The ajiaco (thick vegetable soup) which they only serve on Mondays is unmatched by any other restaurant, even the pricier ones.
