The bread was terrific and they told us it wasn't made there. They use the old bread in the basket and huge salad trick on me. The lobster tail is as big as a shrimp and a steak look like a diamond. The coffee tasted burnt. The desert look like a chocolate running faucet. It's great if you want to get ripped off and pay $80 for dinner. I get better value at Peter Pan diner.

Being amazed by Morton's in NYC I brought my business partners to Morton's in Miami, which turned out to be something completely different from my last experience at Morton's. Basically everything was better in NYC. The food, the staff, the atmosphere... The server didn't know the basics about wine, they did't have a decanter / carafe. The dessert was not server according to the original recipe. Luckily I was in good company, however I will not be going back here and it would be wrong of me to recommend this place to any others before the management from NYC take a trip down to Miami and shape things up. Give me heads up when that is done and I'll be the first customer knocking at the door.

Steak too seasoned. Slow, poor service (and the place was empty). Requested wine and bartender forgot to bring it, so I gave up at that point.

The Porterhouse was beautiful and perfectly grilled, as usually.
However, 2 surprises:
- for a Saturday night, the restaurant was far to be full
- the waiter who served 2 tables next to ours was particularly unpleasant with them and making hard-selling.
It is the first time we met such a guy in a Morton steakhouse.
Fortunately for him, we had a waitress much more pleasant.

I find these restaurants to be consistent no matter where you are. This one is a good example of the breed. My steak was excellent, sides were good. Food is a bit expensive but if you are in a Morton's to begin with this should not surprise you unless this is your first foray out of your hermit cave in a decade. Service was very attentive (a major achievement in Miami) but I had to ask 3 times for béarnaise sauce -- ahh, the problems of the so-called elite, do they ever end?

Yes, it is kind of dark, but once again if you go to a Morton's expecting lots of bright, modern decor and sunshine, you should probably blame the bloke in the mirror before the restaurant.

Seriously, it's a Mortons, and if you'd like a good steak at a bit of a price premium, this is your place.
