I will begin with the good things about this restaurant: the location is great, right on Main Hwy in Coconut Grove, FL; the outdoor seating is pleasant; the main room of the restaurant is large and nicely decorated; the live music and dancing wait staff are great touches. I will have to end here and tell about our Mother's Day dining experience, also, I am the mother.
We arrived at 6:00 and were seated and some time later the waitress took our drink orders. Beer came quickly, but no wine. After 15 min of dancing and serving water to other tables, the waitress informs us they ran out of Retsina wine; we order a different kind. We order appetizers, which came not too promptly.
Then we ordered dinner. We knew the end of Happy Hour was approaching- we had been at the restaurant 55 minutes and no waitress to take our second round order. My husband went to the bar to order and the waitress came and said they ran out of lamb, my husband's dinner order!
He reordered dinner and we waited until 7:30- no dinner and no waitress. Three times while we sat at the table, other people's food was brought to our table and taken away! If we had known, we would have eaten it. All the other tables had food. At 7:30 we called our dancing waitress over and said we wanted the bill. She said the food was almost ready. My husband said forget it- so on Mother's Day, I went home and ate cereal.
What food we did eat was OK. The Appetizer Platter and Saganaki were good. The Pita bread was extra money and not a large portion.
