Had an excellent time here. The leaping lemur tour was worth it. Absolutely loved it. It was not that big so can be covered in half a day

I am from the old school when "Parrot Jungle" was off of U.S.1 down south but times have change and it was a nice change.

The Staff was awesome! We met Ryan and he made us feel like family, the good kind, that is. He helped us understand our map and encouraged us to explore the grounds where ever we could and catch the shows.

I must admit I enjoyed 2 of 3 shows. They all sounded like those giving the show had done this hundreds of times and now it was a script. Most of them tried to sound enthusiastic about the job but it came off rehearsed and monotone. Nevertheless, the stars of the show, the animals were gorgeous! They say there is no God but the variety of species and colors makes you have to take notice of divine design.

As with all attractions, it is a pricey admission. There is much to do like feeding birds throughout the park. There are places to feed goats and get close up with Kangaroos and Wallabies. There are ample photo opportunities to be had with animals of your choosing. The staff walk around with rabbits, snakes, monkeys and of course birds that you can pose with. For a more hefty sum you pay, you can take pictures with a baby tiger.

I think all parks and attractions are overpriced but this one has so much beauty that you nearly forget the price. Depending on the amount of people and cooperation you have, you can do the entire park at a leisurely 4-6 hours catching all shows, feeding goats, hanging with the the Kangas even stopping for lunch (again pricey!!!). Enjoy.

“Great place”

One of the best zoo I have been too. Animal out in open and you are able to see them up close. Wish would have know about mulipul animal interaction/ private animal experience. For an extra $ you can get pics with most of the animals there. I payed an extra 75.00 for pic with baby chimp and baby tiger. Highlight of my trip!!!

“Nice...but not the same as Parrot Jungle”
Reviewed March 14, 2013

It's impossible to compare Jungle Island, the beleagured attraction on Watson Island, with the much beloved, original Parrot Jungle, which was off Old Cutler Road in a veritable jungle of an environment (now it is a county park). I suppose the idea was to make it a more visible, accessible location for tourists, but in my opinion, they killed the goose that laid the golden egg. Now there's a parking garage, an uninspired snack bar, pricey tickets, and a much more urban, less tropical environment. That's not to say that there aren't many things to admire here, the parrots of course! But it's not the same. People still go here and have a wonderful time, it seems...but those of us who fondly remember the old Parrott Jungle are less than impressed. This has been a money-loser from the get-go.
