“Comfort Food Elevated”
Reviewed August 16, 2013

After reading several recommendations for Blue Collar, my wife and I decided to stop by for lunch on our way to the airport. We were both glad that we did. This restaurant reminded me of the American version of the trattoria that I used to frequent in Florence. It was simple comfort food exceptionally prepared in an unpretentious and comfortable setting. The prefect place to experience comfort food elevated above normal diner fare.

To start, we shared an order of the Mac with bacon. The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente and cheesy sauce was well paired with thick cut bacon. This simple dish was a example of how Daniel Serfer transforms classic comfort food into a speculator culinary experience.

I decided to order the Real Juicy Cheeseburger. The name is not hyperbole. The prime dry aged NY strip was by far the juiciest and most flavorful hamburger that I have ever had. It was perfectly cooked and simply seasoned to allow the exquisite flavor of the beef to shine. The Portuguese Muffin on which the burger was served was another simple change that elevated the simple hamburger to new culinary heights. This is a must try for any hamburger lover or just someone looking for a satisfying meal. This will be the hamburger against which all others will be measured, and most likely found wanting.

My wife had a similarly well prepared grilled cheese sandwich. Again the tender texture of the Portuguese Muffin served as the perfect base for this exquisite classic. The blend of cheeses and the addition of bacon combined into a spectacular comfort food.

“Worth the Trip”
Reviewed August 13, 2013

I finally made it to this restaurant after seeing so many favorable reviews here on Trip Advisor. I met a client and got there on a Monday when it opened - 6 p.m.. This restaurant is not in a great neighborhood and is connected to a seedy motel - but that is the only negative about this plac. It has maybe a dozen or so tables, so getting there early is a must or be prepared to wait. Service is friendly and attentive, very imaginative menu with a wide variety of chioces for all palates. Desserts are amazing, the bread pudding we had was off the charts, as was the whole meal. I definitely plan on returning in the near future - the high ratings are most justified !!!

“Blue Collar a must stop when in So.Florida”
Reviewed August 13, 2013

The menu is eclectic and full of great choices for lunch or brunch, dinner or late night snack.
This is the place to satisfy most of your food fantasies. The ingredients are all fresh, local and
prepared in combinations not usually found in this area. We started with Vaca Frita topped Tostones which is flank steak with chives and orange mojo 4 to a serving, quite delicious. We also
shared grilled pears with Gorgonzola Saba dressing comes three to an order, I could have eaten all three. I had the Hangar steak with homemade fries and a garlic aioli, really tender very flavorful
and a nice portion. Sean had the grilled B/S chicken breast accompanied by two sides of his choice, roasted cauliflower bits in a curry purée, and buttered baby book choy, the sides were incredibly delicious. Cindy had the Veggie plate which is her choice of 4 from the veg chalkboard.
Her choices were Kale sautéed in white wine butter, with red pepper and shallots, mixed green salad, caramelized Brussels sprouts, and roasted beets and goat cheese. A wonderfully tasty and healthy combination. We topped this off by sharing the best dessert in the house, a chocolate bread pudding topped with fresh cream and pinch of cayenne. I can't wait to go back and try other great itms on their menu. The service was awesome ask for Amber if you go. Their website carries the full menu bluecollarmiami.com

“More than a "blue" collar meal!!”
Reviewed August 6, 2013

Great meal!! Fresh, locally grown veggies, kicked up a few notches. Order a cup of coffee and it comes in a thermos. So cute, but there is nothing cute about the food. This is the real deal. Wonderful ingredients, perfectly prepared. Veggie plate is reminicent of old lunch counters of the 50's or 60's, with a 21st century flair. Truly a gastronic experience. Shrimp and grits are amazing. Your mouth will explode with flavor!!

“Home cooked food!”
Reviewed August 3, 2013 via mobile

Yummy! Had an awesome waiter from New York who gave good recommendations for food and beer. Coming from New England we enjoyed the Blue Point beer from Long Island. Had the ox tails which were good and the Corben which was great. The potato latke were perfect served with apple sauce. I prefer with sour cream which they didnt have but they still did their best by giving me chipotle sour cream. Key Lime pie was very good. Would go again.
