“Great Place”

We stopped in two weeks ago and it was a bit chilly for Miami. The heater's were set up and made dinner enjoyable. The staff is amazing! Had a great dinner

“Sittin' on the dock of the bay...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 3, 2013

My family has been to Black Point Ocean Grill at least five times, twice for dinner and and three - four times for lunch. We have tried a large number of the appetizers and main dishes. The food has been consistently good, prices are reasonable, and service is very good. Their sea food is excellent. This is a beautiful spot overlooking Black Point Marina and the channel out to open warer. Late week and weekend nights they have live music (often something of the Jimmy Buffet style), which has been very enjoyable. Overall this is a very enjoyable dining experience and I recommend it.

“Good Food, Fun Location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 26, 2013

Blue Point Ocean Grill is located on the water in Homestead, FL. Their specialty is fresh seafood, but you can also find hamburgers on the menu. We had tasty grilled Red Snapper and Blackened Red Fish, preceded by appetizers of deep fried cracked conch and raw tuna swimming in a delicate sauce that tasted a lot like light soy and sesame oil. The prices are reasonable. The service is fast and friendly, and you can eat while watching boaters tool around the inlet. The only word of caution - if you're going to sit along side of the water after sundown, bring along some mosquito repellant, because those nasty bugs are persistent and apparently very hungry.

“Wonderful Fresh Seafood in Outdoor Setting”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 3, 2013

The Cracked Conch was delicious as was the Blackened Dolphin Sandwich. And a great outdoor outside setting at the Black Point Marina. Worth driving out of the way.

“Moon over Miami, Mr. Nice Guy, Good Eats- What More Could You Want?”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 27, 2013

My husband and I have been talking about coming to Black Pointe Marina to eat at Ocean Grille for a long time and finally made it out last night for dinner and to listen to the band Mr. Nice Guy (classic 60, 70, 80's rock). It was a beautiful, breezy night with a full moon- perfect for an outdoor meal. We parked, walked into the rustic restaurant and gave our name to the hostess, who said it would be about a 10 minute wait. It was about 2 minutes. We were seated at a good table- overlooking the bottom level and the marina, not too close to the band and dance floor. Our waitress was super nice and helpful with recommendations. I told her we'd never eaten there before so she gave us her favorite choices. We ended up getting three appetizers, instead of dinner, but the hogfish that she recommended sounded really good, as did a fish dish with an avocado cream and salsa. These dishes were more pricey- $20 and up. We got the smoked fish dip, tuna tetaki and cracked conch and they were all really good- fresh and tasty. The fish dip came out in a huge fried tortilla shell- nice presentation, with pickled jalapeno peppers, banana peppers and chopped onions. No need to ask for anything here. She also brought saltines and hot sauce- perfect. It was a nice portion and around $9 (I think). A little pricey, but you're paying for the ambience. The ambiance, was outdoorsy with a wide range of people-, from couples on dates, to families with kids, to baby boomers there for Mr. Nice Guy, to a couple of drunk fishing-type guys (behind us), to single ladies and old guys on the prowl. People watching is entertaining here. There was also a birthday party of 40-somethings going on at the dock. We ordered a special- Tuna Poke, but they were out of it, so got the Tuna Tetaki- really fresh tuna, coated in sesame seeds, cooked, sliced and served with a sauce. Really good. We were thinking of getting the conch fritters, but our waitress recommended the cracked conch, because there was more conch, less dough. We did and it came out in peices, fried perfectly (not greasy) and served with an asian chili dipping sauce. It was really good, as well. With the beer and wine, it was a perfect dinner. Our bill came to $70, but that was with 3 glasses of wine (Barefoot Pinot Grigio) and quite a few beers. The band was good and for a Friday or Saturday night in Miami (actually Cutler Bay) a wonderful way to spend it. The waitress said it had been crazy busy all day, which is why they were out of the specials (we'd also ordered oysters but they were out). All in all, I really enjoyed it, would go back especially to listen to a good band and dance.
